Above the Tracks/ Sky Watch

Tracks running through East Gwillimbury

These tracks are either traveling to or from this beautiful sky. I captured this early one evening while waiting for a train that never came (or went) around this curve while I was there.

I see that you are standing to the left of the tracks. So we can say that you are not on the right side of the tracks. Bless your heart, you're on the "wrong side of the tracks," Dearie.

Those tracks are sort of like the road that winds away and follows you back home, don't you think? (that line is from Times Like These by the Foo Fighters...not original to me...but I wish they were.)

A single railway track disappearing around a bend on such a lovely summer's day gives me itchy feet too. Delightful shot to start one daydreaming.

I love the composition of the shot, with the train tracks curving into the distance. It makes me want to follow them and see where the tracks lead.
Beautiful sky, too.

The clouds look as if they are painted on the sky. And that empty track - so full of hope and excitement!

Rail tracks hold such promise - and disappointment. Very appealing shot :-)

Patti,
From where I took the photo, the train would be going to Toronto...then east to Halifax (Nova Scotia) or south to Chicago or Mississippi (Gulfport, I think) and somewhere in Louisiana or Texas. (I used to know, but have forgotten!)
