Nature Sightings/ Nature Notes

Seen on a walk on June 1, 2010

Well, I actually saw much, much more but my pal Zoe, a friend's mini schnauzer whom I was babysitting, was not impressed with my picture taking. However, Zoe was a very good girl to let me take the photo of the dragonfly, don't you think?

Photos starting with the largest and moving clockwise: dragonfly (female common whitetail), grass loaded with pollen (Aaaaa-choo!), bladder campion in flower, purple vetch vine twisting it's way up and around a young staghorn sumac leaf, fox grapes and fox grape leaves.

Love all your bits of leaves and the collage you arranged. Zoe sounds like my kids - "come on, mom."

You always create the prettiest collages. Thanks for identifying everything, too.

Cool collage, EG. I also love the dragonfly. Nice of Zoe to let you take the photo.

I'll learn how to create a collage one of these days!

Such great macro. I could see the intricate lace-like pattern of the dragonfly.

Hi that is a nice capture of the dragonfly. Btw our oxalis flower probably measures about 2 to 3 centimetres in diameter.

Stunning EG.
I always liked the way Sumac starts out. A tight fist at the end of the branch and the POP out it comes. MB

Beautiful collage. I'm glad to know what the fox grape is. We have that here, but I didn't know the name for it.
