Guard llama on a farm south of Port Perry
These days, llamas on Ontario farms are not unusual as they have a natural dislike for coyotes and foxes, which prey easily on sheep and goats. This one seems to be looking away haughtily...but really it was quite interested in being in this photograph and was trying to give the lens its best side.

great photo!
interesting subject for your photo today
He look scared.
Great shot! I wouldn't want to mess with a llama anyway :)
Beautiful shot!
A very majestic looking animal :)
Great capture!
Is this any relation to the actor, Fernando Llamas? Oh, wait, I think he spelled his name differently.
Re your comment on Stone Creek: We try to protect our resident from all errant balls, tennis or otherwise. Of course, with me on the golf course, that's a fairly difficult job!
Ya, they are everywhere these days.
Go for it, EG. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I'll be looking for it.
BTW, I took some pictures of a spinner yesterday. I met her at a farmer's market. She was spinning alpaca wool. I got on her mailing list to check out the possibilities of learning something about weaving.
I didn't know that they could be watchdogs of a sort....
Aren't they a hoot? We've seen several here in Perth, Arnprior, Kemptville, etc. Still house hunting, may have news shortly!!!!
I really like this guard. I don't think anything is going to get past him.
That's a priceless moment EG, very well captured!
I think they have the prettiest eyes....
you know, with all of these gorgeous photos and places, I'm thinking it must be pretty nice living in Ontario! I so enjoy stopping by to see your posts!
Great shot - we have bear problems and they will kill the llama! Donkeys seem to be the guard critter in our area!
He is posing beautifully! Someone told me that llamas think the sheep are their dumb little brothers and that's how they treat them.
Very nice!
Nice shot. It is amazing how many LLamas are used as herd protectors here too. MB
Very unusual photo and you had beautiful capture of llamas.
