M.V. Chippewa III, Parry Sound, Ontario
From 1955 to 1990, Chippewa III was known as The Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls, Canada.
Four years later renamed Chippewa III, she cruised through the Welland Canal to Lake Erie and then northward to Parry Sound on Georgian Bay ( Lake Huron). Wow! She has sailed on three of the five Great Lakes!
Dinner bell? Probably not
Today, tourists can board Chippewa III to view me of the 30,00 islands in Georgian Bay. Depending on which cruise tourists choose, the fee may include dinner. To find out more, click HERE

I lived in Niagara Falls Canada for a while in 1986. Watching the boat under The Falls was always fascinating.
That old girl has been around and she is still enjoying life on the water.
I would like to go on a tour boat. We have plenty around here I just have never done it. I guess I should. MB

I think a cruise on this boat would be wonderful. I wonder if there is any chance Chippewa III can make it to the other two Great Lakes?
That would be the most fun! Back in 1970, I did the Niagara Falls tour - it was great!

It looks like a fun ride, but when I was at Niagara Falls, I didn't go on the Maid of the Mist. I like the bell.

Jack and I rode the Maid of the Mists at Niagra Falls so I must have been on this boat. I remember getting very very wet even with my raincoat with hood.

The Lady of the Mist was popular and I did not know it was renamed. This would be nice cruise. She's really a hardworking ship.

The maid of the mist is such a beautyful name! i thought that those boats were bigger.. I'd like so much to have atour on it!And someone is caring of that bell very well!

What a rich and interesting life's story and still going strong. A remarkable lady indeed and I would love tour around in her if only I could still fly. Unfortunately I am permanently grounded.

That bell is fantastic.
I am curious to know about I and II, but it sounds like a true legacy, so when IV emerges some day, I would not be surprised to find that it is a 'Chippewa off the old block.'
