Waterlily (Nymphaea tuberosa)
This time of year, shallow ponds and quiet waters across Ontario are dotted with waterlilies. So far I have seen no frogs on the pads, though! (Do they REALLY sit on pads?)
Here are four seen from a little further away.

Lovely! I saw some yesterday in the palace grounds, most of them weren't in full bloom anymore though.
I love water lilies. They are such a special flower. Beautiful! You made my day!
Hmmmmm, good question... Never saw for myself a frog sitting on it. If you do please click it and share with us, I'll have to bear this doubt now until I see one! :)
God bless you!

No frogs on lily pads anymore because the Princess kissed the frog and it became her prince charming! Ü
Beautiful shots minus the frog tho. Ü
I really like your pictures of the water lilies. I'm sorry I can't help you with the question about frogs and the lily pads.
Beautiful. they are so cheery and Monet-ish.
Yes, frog sometimes do sit on lily pads. ;-)
Always love to see water lilies,,they are such a beautiful graceful flower.
THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL AND WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE THEM INTO MY POND.....BUT THEY ARE VERY INVASIVE SO I WON'T. I WILL ENJOY THEM FROM AFAR.
Oh no I did everything in caps. Sorry
If I delete this I will have already forgotten what I said. LOL

About a week ago I visited a nearby lake to take photos of water lilies. It was late afternoon and they had closed their petals for the day and fallen asleep. Instead, I concentrated on a few bullfrogs by the shore. They were resting in the mud, not on the lilies - I think they would have sunk those floating leaves!
The waterlilies look so serene. Lovely photos.
What pretty water lilies you have in Ontario.
Regarding your question about the pansies -
They thrive very well in a planter in partial shade. Although the heat has made them a bit droopy (like most of the plants), they are still producing quite a few blooms.
One of my favorite sights are to see the waterlilies. Yours are lovely. I always look for those frogs sitting on the pads too. Haven't been lucky so far. Have a great week.
An English Girl Rambles
water lilies are invasive here, sometimes canals and rivers need to be dredged to get rid of water lilies. but their flowers are beautiful.
Lovely shots - love water lillies
Wow, how pretty. There's nothing like that in my neighborhood :)
Great shots ;-)
Yes, frogs do sit on lily pads!
Water lilies are sort of magical looking to me. I can picture a frog on a lily pad - don't know I've ever seen one tho.

Virginal white and oh, so beautiful!
I love that first photo! The reflections of the petals in the water, and the glimpse of the stamens inside the petals!!
These are divine, EG, and your capture of them exquisite. Funny, though, I never noticed water lilies (or lotus, as their called here) until I came to Asia, so I've always associated them with Asia... and Buddhism. Now they are among my very favorite flowers... which is almost a silly thing to say when I love all flowers.
Lovely lilies! I can't seen water lilies without looking for frogs. :)
Waterlilies are just so beautiful! I don't remember seeing them till the last few years...
