Eerie winter light over Cobourg Harbour, Lake Ontario
It would have been almost sunset, if the clouds had parted even the teensiest of bits. But the sky was pretty much overcast. Ducks in the foreground (mallards) were in near to shore and Canada geese were further out in the harbour with the gulls.

The water looks so clear... and cold. Love that speck of red, makes the whole picture so vibrant.

Blue-min beautiful.
Have a nice day, Boonie
This is a chilly scene. l You captured the grey tone of the atmosphere very well.
I like this shot. Such a lot to contemplate and enjoy.
Lovely scene, even if I can feel the cold :-)
It looks like open sea, not really something we see in our (much smaller) lakes!

It looks like a painting!
Beautiful sky, beautiful water.
In Oregon we sometimes stay in a little village called "Coburg" and your harbor's name made me think of it. Yours is prettier, the extra o makes all the difference ;>)
It almost looks like a painting. The colors are really nice.
Cold, but beautiful! Terrific capture and composition as always! Love the color of the water and such lovely skies! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!!

what a nice sight. are those floating ice?
happy first skywatch of the year.
I love how the ocean and sky meet in the distance.
Pretty and colourful view of the sky from your place. Happy Sky Watch Friday.
Looks cold, especially for the birds! Nice shot!
Have a nice SkyWatch :)
I love the soft colors...beautiful!
Always love the blue pink light at evening, sign of a cold but dry night.
Cold, but very nice photo. Happy New Year to Canada. :-)
Ice on the sea?
Actually, I'm not even sure that the water is salt, sweet or bracken?
Lovely blue image.
Awesome capture! Love your composition and the colours! Looks really cold!

An eerie, magical shot! Beautiful colours and lots of interesting features!
What a great image! The sky, the lighthouses, the birds on ice platforms... Thanks for sharing!
God bless you!

Cobourg harbour is an old industrail harbour with grand concrete wharfs. You got a great photo of it, but you're a little out of EG aren't you?
What a beautiful picture. I love it
Right you are, Gary! This is part of the "beyond" in my blog's subtitle. LOL
That's a beautiful spot. I always feel a little sorry for ducks and geese when I see them standing on ice in the winter but they seem to be pretty tough.
Beautiful. The bit of red adds a bit of bounce to the scenery.
The poor Mallards wasn't able to take a swim... =(
Happy SWF! =)
Lovely capture.
Have a great weekend.
Wow, the colors are just gorgeous. Looks like theglacier color blue. Beautiful skywatch shot.
Beautiful capture - I live over a thousand miles from the sea.
Raw, rugged, desolate, almost overpowering shot! I assume this is lake Ontario, is it not? Such a beautiful lake, reminds me of the Atlantic.
I feel chilled. Why is that? It's 55 degrees here!
Hmmm...this, I think, would be a photo for a winter month, right?
It's an exciting shot with a point of view and yet lots of interesting things going on...the ducks and geese in the frigid water, for example.
The light is haunting, almost.
Good job!
Haunting is a good word - that green ice is a very strange looking!
beautiful shot
Tranquil and beauty in the cold weather. Blue and lacking in light but yet so vibrant. The seas are so calm. It looks like a photo shot in the morning or dawn.
Happy Skywatch Friday and have a nice day. May you have a great weekend ahead.
Lovely and friendly!
picture perfect
I love the colors and it looks like the water is so cold.
Winter sky
Beautiful photo and those ducks are so cute.
Wonderful shot. Looks so cold in the gray light.
Beautiful shot, - cold but quite lovely.
Have been there! Looks very cold!
Great shot - with the 2 lighthouses, birds and all the colours of blue!
Hope you had a great New Year's.

a terrific shot as usual. the grey, chilly scene is relaxing.
Great shot with the birds and the light houses, but it looks very cold overthere.
Lovely shot, EG-looks very cold though.
Oh my, I messed up on that first comment.
This is an awesome shot EG. I do like lighthouses, and the birds just make it perfect.

You were able to capture the feeling of the moment perfectly in this shot. It is so beautiful and serene, and the ducks in the foreground make it the perfect picture. Gtreat Job! Genie
Gorgeous scene, I love it!!!
I look and I feel cold...brrrr! lovely blues!
I really like the color and light of this photo.
Love the shot- makes me shiver just looking at it.
Another beautiful scene from your lovely world! The horizon almost melts into the sky. Thanks for your nice comment on my SWF. Enjoy the week.
Wow!Abundance of wildlife,nice light houses.
lovely photo, beautifully composed and such subtle colours in the sky
I love this world of shades of blue. The sea and the sky merges into one: faint purplish color tells it is the sky.
