Franklin Lake in winter
Today is City Daily Photo Theme Day and the theme is "favorite part of town."
Franklin Lake is actually on private property owned by the Franklin Club. I'm not a member so I don't fish there. I love this lake because it's so photogenic throughout the year.

When I think of Canada this is what I imagine. Great photos.
I think it might be my favorite place, too, if I lived there. Looks like it would regenerate the spirit!
Beautiful lake in a great setting. I love the evergreen trees growing right up to the water.
I can see why you feel that way. Looks beautiful regardless the season and very tranquil. Thanks for sharing.
It is a gorgeous place for fishing or just relaxing.
I love the refections in the water.
Let me know when you're visiting the Thomas Foster Memorial, I'll meet you there! Not far away from me. I have been inside a long time ago, it's time for another visit i think!
Not hard to see why this would be a favorite spot, EG. I find it amusing how many of the CITY Daily Photo folks posted a landscape image today. :-)
I agree, this place is very special, wonderful pictures!

Well, you could always join, right?
I've tried to join some clubs, but I'm always reminded of what someone (Groucho Marx?) said: I wouldn't want to be a member of a club that would want me to be a member!) Or something like that.
It is a gorgeous place and your photos are perfection...look at that glassy water surface and those reflections! Yummy!
The lake is absolutely beautiful in winter and summer. No wonder it's one of your favorite places.
I can see why it's your favorite place, I really like the first. The snow on the green is stunning.

Perfect! My Fave was a lake too!
Not surprised you love it and you've photographed it so beautifully too.
How beautiful these shots are...the first one with all the luminosity and composition of an oil painting! I loved snowy scenes like that when I lived in Ontario...hard to find them here in rainy B.C....:)

Franklin Lake in winter takes my breath away! Awesome photo! Why is the lake not frozen -- early winter?
It is a beautiful lake. I can't wait to come visit EG. It seems there is so much natural beauty up there. :)
I've often thought of shooting the same scene at different times in the year, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm awfully glad you have done so, especially since it's a water scene!
