Trumpeter Swan, Lynde Shores Conservation Area, Ontario
Signs at the entrance to this conservation area ask visitors to NOT feed the wildlife, but this trumpeter swan is very tame, suggesting that it is used to hand outs. This is NOT a smiling swan as I didn't have any food to share with it. Still, it let me take its photo.

I'd hate to get too close to that razor-lined bill!
Wow. That's the first time I've ever seen teeth on a swan. Amazing! Thanks for bringing me the experience.
P.S. I didn't even know swans, ducks, geese, etc. even had teeth! I know, I'm a country girl, but we've never had water fowl.
He looks dangerous! Great capture.
This picture is both, amazing and lovely!

Super cool photo! I wouldn't want to get in its way!
Simply amazing shot!
No doubt, this swan certainly was looking for a hand-out!
Terrific shot, EG. I am impressed by the clarity of your close-up.
wow, what awesome pictures and the sharpness and close-up!
Terrific! How close were you! Ah, you were zooming, right? Whatever, it's well done - tack sharp and super colors and you focused on the eye!
I hope you were using a zoom lens. :) Super image!
Certainly looks like it was being very vocal. :)
Awesome shot!!

Amazing shot! good thing it didn't bite your camera. lol
Wowee!! Look at all those little teeth that would hurt a heck of a lot if he wanted to bit you. Ouch!! MB
I think this guy is laughing. Too cute! Great shot and unique focus.
Amazing shot! Even the teeth are visible. I am following your blog. :)
Amazing shot!!!! I'm loving all that detail!!!
Fascinating. I didn't know their beaks are all ridged like that.
This could be very dangerous, but it is a gret picture!
EG, are you kidding? The only reason people go to Lynde Shores is to feed the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. Next time you go, take some wild bird seed with you. Walk the trails and and hold your hand out with the seed in it and they will come.
The details in the beak are amazing, great shot!
Yikes! Looks like you'd better get your hand back. He might want a camera for lunch.
