Mama goose sitting on her eggs
I was standing on a bridge looking at the creek and greening vegetation below. The goose was staring up at me, not moving a muscle.
Another view of the mama goose
In the upper left-hand corner you can see a bit of the creek where mama and papa will take their goslings for their first swim.

I takes a lot to scare mom off the nest. See my post for the aftermath.
... with lots of camo.
good luck, sweet mama goose! :)
That is interesting. I never think of geese as having camouflage, but they sure do.
Very nice. Mama's can be fearless. I speak from experience.
I did not see any photo of goose like these...different perspective.congrats

She would charge you if you were closer. I miss our babies at the pond this year.
I checked all your posts I missed while gone---all excellent.
Thanks for being super. MB
I was thinking the same as Small City, if you had attempted to get closer, you would have had a face full of goose!
She is well camouflaged, I love the look she gives you.
She manages to hide very well in the grass :)
Have a nice weekend EG!
She sure doesn't trust you! Nice pics.
Good post and good goose to just sit there and stare at the camera!

I love the geese, miss them here!
In my part of the world the goslings have hatched and I am amazed at how fast they have grown.
Soon, soon, there will be gosling running around!
Martha,
A few have hatched here too...but they still look brand new. :)
There certainly are a lot of busy female feathered friends at this time of year. The camouflage is interesting!
The Vermilon is still in flood!! No nests yet. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
She is watching your every move making sure you are not there to harm them. :)

She was trying to decide if you were a threat or not. Glad she decided "not"! An attack goose is a ferocious thing to see.

I'm so impressed with her camouflage and I do wish her well with her new brood. People are not always so happy to see Canada geese here as they compete with our own barnacle geese. But you do have to admire their resilience and the care they take of their families. Lovely shots.
It looks like she's ready to attack if you got any closer.
Mother Goose is definitely keeping an eye on you. I don't think I would want to tangle with her.
Oh my, she is keeping a close eye on you. Great capture.
Hope her babies hatch and live long lives. Cute shot!
Any closer and this mama would've snapped your nose off... :-D
Really beautiful shots! Thanks for sharing!
I don't think I have ever seen that kind of goose before...too cool! :)
I would not mess with her!
