Dull day but bright reflection
Last Sunday my husband and I were on our way to visit relatives in Upstate New York when we decided to take a short break...and LOOK what we found. Doesn't the reflection look like someone has scratched away some of the colour?
This river empties into Lake Ontario.

Interesting play of the vertical lines in the top part (deck rail, etc) and the horizontal lines in the lower reflection. Squint and it is very abstract.

I wish our rivers were that calm right now. They are usually beautiful, but are in flood stage at the moment.

The scratch picture! I remember doing that as a kid! First color the paper, then cover with black waxy stuff, then scratch in my "picture"! Don't think I ever got very good at it. But Mama Nature sure did here.
The reflection in the ripples makes an interesting pattern.
I dunno but this photo will be etched into my consciousness for some time...how beautifully bucolic...What a great place to sit and fish or just sit!

Have you lost your friends, too, I wonder? Lovely looking find with everything one could wish for. Yes, the water as you captured it is striking and it may be some time before you, or whoever lives there, sees that again!
