River/ Weekend Reflection
Last Sunday my husband and I were on our way to visit relatives in Upstate New York when we decided to take a short break...and LOOK what we found. Doesn't the reflection look like someone has scratched away some of the colour?
This river empties into Lake Ontario.

Interesting play of the vertical lines in the top part (deck rail, etc) and the horizontal lines in the lower reflection. Squint and it is very abstract.

EG, you really got a good one today. The stretched horizontal lines in the water make this picture.
You mean your hubby took the break and the photography bug made you go searching for this great capture. Nice work!
I always love your reflection shots. Your water photos make me yearn for Lake Michigan :)
FANTASTIC!!! one of my favorites!
Wow these reflections are wonderful!Amazing capture, I have the feeling it's a perfect day there!Lovely place!

this is a fabulous photo. I'm loving all the lines going on and the way you've captured the light. oh WOW!
Fabulous shot as usual!
A fine shot with exceptionally nice reflections of a very unusual nature. What an eye-catching shot. Very well done.
I wish our rivers were that calm right now. They are usually beautiful, but are in flood stage at the moment.
A ripple glass reflection rather than a looking glass, nice.
I love the rippling reflection! Terrific capture for the day! Hope you have a great weekend!
Sylvia
Yes it does rather look like that ;)
What a peaceful scenery! I'd like to spend some time there, enjoying simple pleasures of life!
Very nice photo. :) LG Tina
Great capture and the "scratchy" reflection just makes the shot!
wonderful scratchy reflection!
The scratch picture! I remember doing that as a kid! First color the paper, then cover with black waxy stuff, then scratch in my "picture"! Don't think I ever got very good at it. But Mama Nature sure did here.
The reflection in the ripples makes an interesting pattern.
I dunno but this photo will be etched into my consciousness for some time...how beautifully bucolic...What a great place to sit and fish or just sit!
What a great place you found. Beautiful reflections!
Have a nice weekend :)
Have you lost your friends, too, I wonder? Lovely looking find with everything one could wish for. Yes, the water as you captured it is striking and it may be some time before you, or whoever lives there, sees that again!
Fantastic! I like what you suggested about scratching the color away. It does look like that.
I also love the scene. It's idyllic, the sort of place I'd love to live, with decks and docks and boats.

I like your very colorful and beautiful reflection.
The ripples in the water do make it look as if some of the color has been scratched out. This is a very interesting and beautiful reflection. Thanks for sharing it with us.
the lines are fantastic!!
looks like a great spot to stop
Love how the colours look as if they have been scratched and stretched! Magical!
Gorgeous reflections, pristine water. Beautiful.
I'm giving you 5 star in this photo and 5 thumbs up:-) great capture :-)
MY WEEKEND REFLECTION

Love how you captured the water!!! Great reflection!!!
So calm and peaceful, just lovely!
Great capture of awesome reflections. The colour does indeed look scratched away and faded yet so beautiful and serene. Thanks for sharing. Jo
Perfect shot. I love the touch of the man fishing off the dock. Wow,thanks for sharing.
Just like Monet's painting! -http://tajmaan.blogspot.com/2011/03/singapore-flyer-reflected.html
Lovely reflection and I would love to be sitting on that dock with a line in the water too!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Genie
This is a lovely shot - both the scratches of the reflection, and the wonderful scenery overall. I'd like to sit down there, too.
