he is beautiful, i saw one similar to this yesterday down here, but not quite like it. our b fly's are not here like they were a few weeks back, and i wonder why.
I'm in awe of butterfly close-ups...am now into bird-shots, will join you for butterfly shots when I graduate from birds. I like the shadows too. Great SOOC. Rosie

My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Yes, very lovely. :)
The swallowtails are my favorite butterfly. I just don't see them very much anymore, and that makes me sad.
I don't know how you know these things, EG. Does the fauna have identifying tattoos up there?
What a beautiful sooc shot - a lovely butterfly!
Beautiful! The butterflies here have been most elusive this summer.

I have yet to get a decent butterfly photo this year!
Great shot of the swallowtail and I love the turtle in the post after this one.
I was out today and saw the largest butterfly I have ever seen. Not like this but still lovely.
Exactly right, a bit past its best but still a wonderful creature.
that's just the kind of tattering I admire---you can imagine how it happened.
bless its heart and tatter!

The leaf over the right wing makes it a tricky image, at first sight I thought a part of the wing was missing... Silly me. :)
God bless you!

A bit tattered like all of us after this summer. Still a beauty!
I have seen a few of these EG, but they never seem to stop long enough for any photos.

Wonderful macro. I really like the composition of your photo.
We see tiger swallowtails here, too. Nice photo of him.
