Autumn Leaves?
It's October and the leaves are changing so my husband and I decided to head for Ontario's Cottage Country early Saturday morning. When we started out, the skies were overcast, but Environment Canada had promised sunshine and we ALWAYS trust the weather people (NOT). Well, we live in hope.
However Environment Canada was correct. The skies did clear. But the first changing leaves we saw were disappointing.
Traveling into Cottage Country
We traveled on...and low and behold, there was not only light but also colour.
Now, that's BETTER
This is the life, don't you think?
A closeup of almost blinding colour

The turning leaves are truly spectacular. The boat house in the top photo is enormous. What a life!!
Thank you! Hope there is more where this came from.
Beautiful scenery and autumn colors. Wonderful photos to share with Our World. Have a great day!
Brilliant colors!
What a romantic place! Your leaves are what we are hoping for, but this darn low pressure system over us has brought rain for the past 5 days, and won't give up! I am a weather watcher for one of the local TV stations, and even I can't change it. LOL
Aboutthe walnuts, after they are dry we roll them on the floor under foot till the outer shell comes off and then put them into a vice to carefully crack them.
Have a wonderful trip.

Sounds like a lovely day... our leaves aren't showing much color yet... as to the weatherman being trustworthy well, things aren't much different here in Seattle!
It must be a photographers dream in your part of the world right now. Great color!

I love that yellow house, it looks like they painted it to fit the fall colors. blazing glory you have here.
The colors are splendid in your pictures, thanks for sharing!

We spent Saturday evening at the first annual Toronto Oktoberfest. It was very, very cold! Should have gone out to see the changing trees instead. :) You got some really nice shots.
There is nothing like fall in Ontario great colour shots. I love the fall. B
Oh, I love the changing colours in these shots.
Fantastic colors in October. In Norway it is also beautiful fall colors now, especially in the mountains.
I'm jealous of those brilliant colors you've found! It never gets that colorful here in the San Fran Bay Area. Those "cottages" along the waterfront are quite delicious!
Bring on the beautiful colours,
Our colors are just starting, but it's been very cloudy and rainy, so the colors are very muted. I like you blinding color :-)
The Cottage Country on Lake Simcoe?
You're trying to make us Floridians jealous, aren't you? We get some color change here in north central Florida but usually not until December!
So lovely. I am jealous. Well, envious, at least!
A taste of what is to come - very little change here yet. Nice ones EG!
The turning leaves are gorgeous -- I think a number of us were having the same thoughts as we celebrate the beginning of fall in many of our worlds! Love that last capture in particular, but they're all beautiful! Hope you have a lovely week ahead!

Wonderful shots of the changing leaves. I love all the different stages of autumn.
I like them all, EG! I just simply love fall.
Very nice series! Love the colours in the second and last shot!
Thanks for sharing;o)

Have a nice and happy week****
I like seeing your reds and oranges which we don't get here at high altitude. Seeing the water view is an extra bonus for me!
I really love the colors you northerners get as opposed to what we get here in the west. How much more colorful your leaves are.
The leaves are just turning brown, not much colour, so I really enjoyed seeing your photos!
Beauty that makes drunk.
Please have a good Tuesday.

Up in the true North we're way ahead of them!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Amazing colours. I've only seen the leaves in Ontario once, and I was there for a funeral, so I didn't have a camera or even think of one. I'll have to come back.

Ah! how I love the autumnal colours - Thank you for taking me along for the drive - it's beautiful!
Autumn has such rich golden colours, that's what I like so much about this time of the year. Thanks for sharing.
Autumn leaves can offer blinding, beautiful colour! A fascinating series of photos!
Definitely autumn beauty there!
That certainly is some great color! We have such limited color where I live, we have the beautiful aspen trees with their golden fall color but not much else for variety.
I need sunglasses to view that last photo. ;) Outstanding.
How I envy you. These colors are just lovely. My favorite season got to be fall but we have never experienced it here in a tropical country. I did spend one fall in Toronto and the Niagara Falls though.
This looks like a pretty place to spend the weekend. So far, we haven't had much change of color, and what we are getting is pretty weak. I have read that the forecasters here predict a duller autumn than usual.
Love the leaves and fall colors. We went to the mountains over the weekend but it is far too early for leaves to change here. We will look at yours while we wait.
Beautiful shots. What a lovely area.
Darryl and Ruth :)
I love Fall colours, especially in Ontario/Quebec. So beautiful.
Blazing red, that's what I love in the Northeast or Northwest, but not where we are.
But hopefully, we can see the same colors on our road trip this weekend.
Yep, there's nothing quite like a sugar maple for fall colour. It really is happening in your world. Fall is dressing herself up all right.
I love thosen autumn colors. Great shots.
Lovely fall colors.
That last shot is really beautiful!!
It really looks like fall ! I can't say that from Belgium, the trees are still quiet green. Unusual for October. Beautiful pictures !
Hi there I am visiting your site as another Our World Tuesday participant today. Beautiful I would love to see Autumn in your part of the world for myself one day.
Ah...so colorful, but then comes snow!
The colors in the next to last pic are so vibrant and alive! It must be great to live there now in the Fall!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, I am so jealous of people that live where the leaves change such beautiful colors.
The water shots are reminiscent of a pointillist painting! But it'll be a long 6 months before we see autumn colours downunder in OZ ...
Beautiful Fall colours, and the boat house is lovely. I wouldn't mind living in that place! I wish the wind here would give our leaves a chance to turn colour before it blows them away!
