Action/ Theme Day

Canadian National just leaving East Gwillimbury on its way north and west

It's City Daily Photo Theme Day and the theme is ACTION.

The train tracks on the east side of town belong to Canadian National Railway stretching from Halifax in the east to Prince Rupert in the west, as well as New Orleans in the south.

East Gwillimbury is just north of Toronto

Great shot and a fascinating post. So how come CNR owns the tracks south to New Orleans?

Interesting picture with the red train that is a contrast to the wild.

More action than you'd have seen on some of our public transport yesterday. On strike.

I'd love to ride the train East to West. I am curious about the route to New Orleans tho. There must be a reason for that.

When we were in Canada a couple years ago I never saw so many trains in my life. Since I grew up with a railroad in my backyard I've always love trains. I would stand and watch all the trains I saw in Canada.

Seeing where those trains go makes me want to "ride the rails". I like the one in your photo. The colors look so pretty reflected in the water!

There is something about a red train - like a toy train set. Great shot.

I really like this shot. My Hubby was into trains so I have a fondness for them.

Love the way you captured the reflection as well as the train itself!! There is not a whole lot else with colour left, is there...

My favorite element is the glassy reflection in the water.

Hey E.G., it passes near Chicago, so hop on board and pay us a visit, will ya?
