Hmmm. I'm impressed by the neatness here. I wonder if these guys and gals always hang their clothes up at home too.
An old fire station, Meaford, Ontario
The doors are closed, the blinds are down. Don't you wonder if everything is as tidy inside as in the photo above?
Not to worry though. This is no longer an active fire station. It's now owned by a heritage society that plans to house historically significant documents and artifacts behind these doors and windows. I sure hope the society has installed fire alarms with working batteries, don't you?

I've been to Meadford before and seen the fire hall there. It's a beaut and you have captured that in your photo.
I think firemen are pretty meticulous, especially about their gear.

Firefighters are required to be neat as they have no time to find things if they are called out. Much like the Navy, I think. Neatness and cleanliness is next to godliness and the Navy folks took that old saw seriously!

I don't know if it is because my dad was a firefighter but I see photos like the first one and my heart just sings.

The latches on the door of the old fire station are definitely ornate. I suspect that once the heritage society moves in, everything will be neat and orderly.

Fantastic post for the letter F..I always fight firehouse interesting, but the red front door top the cake today.
I love when they restore older buildings!!! And are they as neat as they are at work? Probably not:) It's like they say, you may have a car mechanic in your family but it's the last to get fixed:) They probably throw their shoes all over the house....because they can:)

First of all, I would like to say, I think firefighters are just about the bravest people around. They go into the burning buildings that we are running out of. Thank God for them.
And, second, that red door photo is absolutely gorgeous!

A fine tribute to some awesome fellows and ladies too! I agree with another comment here that firefighters are some of the bravest folks I see! Here in Colorful Colorado where I am a native we are surrounded by wildfires bruning out of control! These brave folks battle these blazes in 100 degrees temps without a single complaint. My heart goes out to them and those they are helping in these sad times. Please pray for Colorado and all the firefighters abnd folks losing their homes and some even their lives! Hugs Anne
The fire house is lovely, as well as historically significant and of course, one day the picture of the inside of a 2012 firehouse will be historically significant too.

Love your photos! My hubby was a firefighter in the Air Force prior to flying helicopters for the Army...he was very neat as a young firefighter and is still very orderly :o)...
