Double-crested cormorant
This afternoon, driving home from an emergency visit to a sick relative in Upstate New York, my husband and spied these cormorants in a tree next to the harbour in Hamilton, Ontario. Truth be told, it's amazingly easy to take photos of cormorants there.

They're a nice bird, but I think you mean Double-crested Cormorant.

Nice photos of the Cormorant. I wonder if the ones you have over there have beautiful blue eyes like ours here.
I hope your relative is OK - these are both terrific, I love seeing cormorants in action (though *definitely* not easy for me to get a great capture :)
Now I need a lesson on birds. I know very little yet they live so close by.
It might have been easy to photograph them but it took some skill to get the photos that you did.

What's the difference between a cormorant and an anhinga? We have both here but they look the same to me.

Beautiful shots! There are cormorants listed in my Birds of Illinois book, but I have never seen one. Hopefully I will one day, when my camera is in hand, of course.

Cormorants are one of my favorite birds to capture with my camera...their eyes are beautiful jewels and they can often be found just sitting on rocks or branches drying out their wings. Great shots.

It may have been easy to get pictures of cormorants in Hamilton, but you got some great ones.
Fishermen are not fond of cormorants but I kinda like their prehistoric appearance, captured so well in your photos.
We saw some cormorants in North York a couple of weeks ago! Always surprising to see "nature" in the city. We also saw kingfishers or some such thing (there was a birder who randomly chose us to explain this to, or I wouldn't have known).

We have it here in Sweden too, but it's not so popular because of its droppings that kills the trees they are sitting in.
