Uxbridge farm
As we drove along a rural road last week, I was taken back in time. I haven't seen a sleigh on wooden runners for years and years.
The kind farmer stopped to let me take another photo

Love these images, look like some scene from an old movie!
The horses are adorable and very strong...they work so hard!

Wow I love this. Great shot and farmers are like that:) B
You must have been delighted to come across these fellows. Old fashioned and picture postcard pretty.

this is my first ever sleigh of any kind except in the movies... those horses are magnificent.
What a fantastic Winter scene!
Grand horses and harness!
These are awesome photos! I wonder if they were going to get wood. When our neighbour up the road was living he used his horses and sled to haul wood in the winter. Wish I'd gotten a photo of that!
This is a rare find indeed.
Wow! What a gift! Amazing photo! ^_^
Well, this looks like a scene out of Currier & Ives!
Oh these are beautiful!!! When you see these kind of pictures it reminds you of the beauty of winter!
Looks like both man and beast are enjoying this nostalgic trot through a wonderland of snow.
It's a two-horse open sleigh! A real blast from the past. :)
Wow!! You have found something so unusual and wonderful! You have made my day.
How nice of the farmer! Looks like fun.
Had it been in black and white who would have known the difference when it was taken. Nice.
very cool! had a family w/ a sleigh back in my wisconsin childhood neighborhood.
Lovely shots today, looks like the horses and the men were enjoying their day.
How perfectly wonderful! It looks like they really work that way -- and not just a tourist or photo op. Great find!
Oh my, I don't think I've ever seen anything like this! Only in movies...and now here:) Nice!
What an unusual sight! Makes for great photos! : )
It has been a long time since I have seen one of those sleighs!! But when you have the big horses, you have to give them some work to do... I bet the farmer was playing, though...
I've never seen such a thing either! You were so lucky to be going by - gorgeous horses!
How awesome. It sure looks frightfully cold there! Brrrr!
Lucky you. I love how they have on Carhartt clothes. Nice fashion statement here. hahahahaha.
That's amazing! I have never seen a sleigh like that, either. What great fun for kids of all ages!
I love those draft horses! I think they're among my most favorite animals (after Labrador Retrievers, of course). These are fantastic shots; you captured a wonderful, rare moment.
There is a farm a couple of miles from our house where they have a small herd of Shire draft horses that they use for plowing. Draft horses are becoming "heritage" animals as mechanization has replaced their labor.
Gorgeous, and it looks like such fun!
Great sled and those horses are beauties!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Oh, yes!! What a great capture, EG! I do love the horses!! Fun shots for the day! Have a wonderful week!
Aren't those horses handsome!
Now that's cool - what a great shot!
if this was taken last week only, it seems to me you are still deep in winter. you sure have a long winter. how nice.
A little envious:) Guard these pics with your life! Horse drawn anything in the snow are hard to find! Looking at their clothes it must be REALLY cold!
I don't know which is nicer -- that you saw this sleigh or that the farmers stopped so you could get another picture.
Oh, how very charming!
Great captures - certainly a scene from yesterday. I wonder how it would look in sepia with an ageing texture added.
have a wonderful week. i am linking up to you through Our World Tuesday.
What great shots! I love the horses and the sleigh!
Great shots and I love it!
Warm greetings from Holland,
Anna :D
Such an old-time scene. I love it!
Have a great Tuesday. ☺
that shot takes me to my childhood.
I love this! Reminds me of my childhood, too, going for "hay rides."
I've known a few people throughout my life that have kept draft /work horse teams.. and they've always amazed me. Gentle giants.
Love these shots!
