Beaverton/Weekend Reflections

The harbour on Lake Simcoe at Beaverton, Ontario

Last weekend the ice was receding and fish-loving birds like great blue herons and belted kingfishers were moving in. Now we are hoping for a bit more sunshine.

As you can see, there's not much colour here yet. But I do have one lonely crocus blooming in my gardens - even though we did have snow flurries yesterday.

Snow flurries. Brr! Reminds me of what we hopefully just recently left behind.

I'm trying to visualize what it would look like with green grass and leaves on the trees. Snow coming tonight and tomorrow here. :( Sigh....

That is so pretty. I am looking out my window looking at the freezing rain sticking to everything, most people would be upset I cannot wait to get out and take photos. I have a feeling we are similar that way:) B

Well, the blue is a color - and a pretty one. Hope your weather warms up soon.

It's a hopeful photo; could spring actually be arriving?

I'm so happy to see open water in that photo, that means spring is sorta on it's way right? :) We have snow on the ground but it will melt fast.

Well, the blues in the sky and water certainly are pretty against the browns and grays. Hope it greens up for you soon! This is a really beautiful shot.

Nice rippling reflections. Here in Maine we are maybe 1-2 weeks ahead of you, but not much. I still have snow piles that the plow made. Hopefully soon for both of us. Crocus is a good sign.

Nice, nice image even though it looks mighty cold. Poor lonely Crocus. I hope you get some sun and warmth and more flowers bloom. MB

This is pretty and looks more like spring than what I am seeing here.

Love those reflections! We are having indecisive weather too, winter to summer to April showers - our poor flowers are confused again!

This is the time between winter and spring, a breath between two seasons..

Lake Simcoe is one of my favorite lakes and I've never seen it in person. What a great shot and great reflections.

I heard a heron flying overhead the other day, saying "We're heading to Ontario. The snow ought to be gone by now." Noooooooooo!
