A/Alphabe-Thursday

Azalea in my mother-in-law's yard

A is for AZALEA and ADOPTED

Hi, all. I'm back from a difficult few days in Upstate New York where my mother-in-law - a very lovely lady - just passed away.

You know all those bad jokes and stories about mothers-in-law? That wasn't my husband's mother the jokes were talking about. My mother-in-law treated me like one of her own kids. In fact, I was called the ADOPTED daughter.

While we were saying our last good-byes, this lovely azalea bloomed in her side yard.

I am linking to Jenny Matlock at Alphabe-Thursday HERE

I am so sorry for your loss but glad the two of you had such a strong and loving relationship. Perhaps that azalea was helping her to say 'farewell, and Fare Well'.

I keep forgetting the name of this flower, thanks for the reminder.

isn't such a joy to see the azalea bloom just as you were saying goodbye? I think it's a reminder how wonderful the world can still be.

hope you have a sweet day.

I am sorry for your loss. I had a great MIL too, until my marriage failed and they took his side! Luckily I've reconnected with my sister-in-law since my ex's passing.

The azalea is beautiful.

So sorry for your loss. My in laws adopted me also. My father in law is gone but my mother in law is still around and very much part of our lives.

My condolences also. You were fortunate to have had a great relationship with your MIL. I did also, and when she died it was difficult for she was very much a "mom" to me.

It is nice, though, that you have this beautiful azalea photo to remind you of her love!

I can soooo relate to this! My MIL was loving and giving. She once told me that I WAS a daughter to her, as much as the ones to whom she gave birth.

My yard is filled with azaleas right now. I even have some that bloom from spring until winter.

Thanks for your comment on my post. I just love being a gadfly!!

Beautiful! :)

Sure I've heard abut that bad jokes, I never have understood them, really.. I've been wondering if men are worst to complain on their mothers-in-law?? I might be wrong. My man does not complain, he is proud of my mum.
