Can you believe it? Just last week, this camel was nibbling grass in a farmer's field...in Canada!
CASPIAN terns
I've said it before and I'll say it again, terns remind me of old men in berets - COMICAL, CHARMING CHARACTERS.
CATBIRD
Ever heard the CATLIKE CALL of a catbird? Catbirds are often secretive hiding in tangles of vines and limbs (CLEVER, eh?) but passersby know they are there by their mewing sound.

Love all of these shots. That camel is too much, and you remember, I'm sure, that old advertisement suggesting someone would walk a mile for a camel...well, I ain't walking all the way to Ontario!
What about the phrase, "He's in the catbird seat"? Where'd that come from.
And you're right about the terns...but they are well-dressed old men (French men?)...
The idea of the terns being old men in berets made me smile!

I heard my first catbird this spring! I seriously thought it was a cat, the sound is so like one. Great set for the letter C. :)
i wish i could see and hear a catbird! we have a couple of camels in our area. so cool. and i love terns!

We see camels almost every time we go to Branson. It was quite a startling sight the first time I spotted them behind that tall fence along the highway! Great shots!
All are gorgeous but I CANNOT get over that CAMEL! Just nibbling away randomly in Canada!

I just discovered catbirds this spring. They certainly are interesting birds. Lovely pictures all, but I really like that camel.

Not your every day, run of the mill animal sightings. Camel - and I thought I had hit the 'oddly out of place' animal find with a llama among the cows last Fall.
I don't think I've ever heard or seen a catbird. Hmmm...you've got me curious. Do they really sound like a cat?

One of my neighbors keeps a couple camels - it never fails to make me stop in shock even though I know they are there!
Haha! I'll never look at terns the same way again EG .. I think a camel chewing grass in a field would have made me stop an click also :)

We have catbirds but not the old men in beret birds. They are very pretty.
Those are some great catches for the letter C! I have never heard of a catbird, but it sounds quite interesting.

That's amazing! I had no idea dromedary's lived in Canada. One hump is a dromedary, two humps is...I can't remember.
