Pumpkins ripening
Friday my husband and I were out and about when we came upon a field of pumpkins. Ripening already? Yikes! The season really IS changing.
I like the contrast of the orange and green so we stopped so I could take some photos. And I just had to take a photo of...
Wagons in the background
the wagons. This farmer takes his/her orange and green seriously.

But summer may not be over yet. Sitting in another field, two people in portable chairs watched...
Kempenfelt Bay
sailboats in the bay where - if it weren't for the goldenrod in the foreground - it could look like summer.

There's something very inviting about a field of pumpkins.
It's only slightly over a month until Canadian Thanksgiving. Time flies.
Beautiful pumpkins photo!
Greetings, RW & SK
Very colourful looking!
Love seeing pumpkins in the field. Where my daughter lives they have a factory that cans pumpkin. They call it the pumpkin capital of the world. Not sure that's true, but could be I guess. They have a pumpkin festival coming up later this month. I'm sad to see summer go, but do love the fall colors. Very nice selection of photos.
I love the pumpkin photos. It seems so early for them but it sure felt like fall this morning. Nice to see the couple enjoying the sailboats on a beautiful day.
that first photo is fantastic... the green is so green the orange is so orange, just beautiful. and i love to sit and stare out over water...great capture on that one to
Interesting contrast. It is always a signal when the pumpkins in the field start ripening.

I'd love to go exploring that field of pumpkins. Wow, autumn really is in the air now:)
both scenes/seasons are sweet. :)
The orange and green complement each other perfectly. Make the most of the last warm sunny days, like the couple in their portable chairs . . .
The pumpkins in the east look more mature than those in western BC but this could be because we switched weather patterns for a while. Also, the fog rolled in so no sailboats to be seen today, although they are lovely to watch out in the water in summer as well as in autumn.
I can't believe the Pumpkins are that ripe already. Yipes is right!! I'd better get down in the Valley and see whats going on. My pumpkins or should I say ;pumpkin' is still small and green. MB
I am amazed at the size of those pumpkins. Good Grief, Halloween is almost upon us!!
Hi Love the pumpkins in field. Love the shot of those 2 people but I think they might have had a row! Looking at the water may cool them off.
Wow, it doesn't seem like it should be pumpkin season quite yet but, it really is creeping up on us. I love the photo. I don't get to see pumpkins in the field very often.
Pumpkins already? I cannot let go of the summer.Love the couple in their chairs.
It does seem early for pumpkins. Beautiful shots.
Beautiful post with beautiful photos!
Love your colorful captures for the day, EG!! Does seem early to see such ripe pumpkins in the field!! Think that means an early Fall???? The couple in the chairs is such a fun shot!! Hope you have a great week!
the pumpkin image sure does put things into perspective.
i cannot wait for fall to arrive and all the beautiful leaves.
Exactly pumpkins already!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Lovely shots of the pumpkins, and the old couple sitting in chairs.
I love that first pumpkin shot! All the rich colour and shadows...stunning!
I love the top shot and the pumpkin patch. Our pumpkins didn't do as well as these did.
Great photos depicting the seasonal transitions ~

Love your pumpkin photos! Yeah, we have some growing in our garden too.
Beautiful shots and a reminder that Fall is not far away.
Oh dear...pumpkins. Well at least they have the right season. Lowes was putting out Christmas decor when I went there today. Wrong season!
I love this time of year. A little bit of fall and a little bit of summer all rolled into one.
Love these photographs, especially the couple by the water.
Your landscapes are in the midst of change. Soon enough those trees will be full of colorful leaves.
Transition time for sure ... your pictures really show that beautifully.
It seems like the fall season is here already. I love the pumpkins, I saw some myself this weekend. Will they last till halloween? Great collection of photos.
I love the colour contrast on the first picture. I also love the peace of the scene of the couple watching the Bay....last of summer. So inviting

Gorgeous pumpkins shot and love the couple watching the view, all great shots!
You're right. It is nearly time to see pumpkins in the fields again. Maybe I will go looking with my camera in a week or two.
I like the green and orange wagons sitting next to the pumpkin patch!
There is nothing like fields of pumpkins that says Hello FAll. visiting from Our World Tuesday site.
I'm convinced "The End of Summer" should be a season all on its own.
I love it when the orange peeks out through the pumpkin vine. and that shot of the sailboat is so summery.
