Colour in Algonquin Provincial Park
This week Alphabe-Thursday is celebrating the Letter and here T stands for TREES.
Yesterday, my husband and I spent the day in Algonquin Provincial Park where the trees have turned golds, oranges and reds. The day started out
foggy...
Kilometre 12 inside the park
Oxtongue River
and ended overcast...but in between the sky was delightful, even turning blue at midday.
Blue sky reflected in the river at lunchtime
I like the contrast of the colourful hardwood leaves with the dark green of the spruce and pine trees.
Reflections in the river on Opeongo Road

So, autumn really has come--at least in the north.
Such colorful trees. I really like the misty fog photo, that would make a great watercolor.

Algonquin Provincial Park is the most incredible gift especially this time of year. Your photos captured its beauty perfectly. Thank you I was wondering how it was turning. Hug B

We don't see this kind of color down here so thank you. Beautiful pictures all but that third one with the canoes resting on the misty water is superb. Frame it and hang it!

Hi again. To respond to your question. Yes, cardinals are very skittish. But it so happens we have a big bush just outside our kitchen window - a window they cannot see in!
Last night while eating dinner, we counted 9 cardinals and 1 dove along with two other smaller birds on or alongside of that bush! I can sit inside and take picture after picture and they never know it. :)
Wonderful colours, everything is still green here. Although a few leaves are starting to fall!
Oh these are wonderful. I had plans to be there in the northeast right about this time but plans changed. Do show more of what I am missing.
Oh boy, autumn in Algonquin! Beautiful, wish I was there.
Wow the colors are great, EG. Trees are turning here also but have had so much rain and wind the leaves are falling before turning. Darn it. Last year if I remember right was a gorgeous for color. MB

I love the misty shots, but the sun really shows off the colors. What a beautiful place and a gorgeous time of year.
It was worth it to see the fog in order for those beautiful colors to shine through later in the day!
We often used to visit my family in Canada in early October and celebrate Canadian thanksgiving. The trees were beautiful on the way up there, but had usually reached their peak at my parents place by the time we arrived. Beautiful shots!
