Lake Simcoe at Virginia Beach
I guess it depends on whether you think December 1st is the first day of winter OR the Winter Solstice is (this year December 21at 12:11 pm) .
It sure looks like winter here! Close to Lake Simcoe's shore is covered in ice, not thick, mind you, but definitely ice. It's actually quite pretty when the light is good or sort-of good.
Wintery Weather
Largest square: Virginia Beach (L. Simcoe). Moving clockwise: stairs to a dock on the Trent-Severn Waterway; reflection of boathouse in Beaverton Harbour (L. Simcoe); Starling eating grapes on the shore on Jordan Harbour (L. Ontario); weird shaped ice - looks like logs - in Beaverton Harbour (L. Simcoe); and swirling snow on ice in Virginia Beach (L. Simcoe).
I am Linking to Mosaic Monday HERE.

It won't be long until the ice huts appear.
Virginia Beach! Ha! If Virginia Beach looked that here now, I guarantee you the values of houses would plummet overnight. :-)
Lake Simcoe always appeals to me. Lovely shots!
Oh, to me, you look outside, see beauty like that, and it's winter! Love the starling.
your almost winter is absolutely gorgeous. that first show would make a wonderful painting on the wall or a card... love that tree in the collage
Winter starts with the first snowfall. Lovely collage.
We got a lot of snow yesterday and overnight in Guildwood as well.
Time to go for walk in the park and down to the lake.
Great shot!
It does look very chilly, it's actually 16c here today. Crazy!
Lovely vinterphotos!

Nice pictures. It's been winter for a while as far as I'm concerned!
the blues, browns and whites of winter are still so beautiful.
Nice wintry scenes.
Those ice logs are interesting.
Your large photo is like a beautiful painting.Wonderful light.
I think we're in for a real Canadian winter this year. Lots of snow in Eastern Ontario.
I say close enough. We got 'bout 15 inches. Hey, that's winter in my book.
HI Looks fantastic and pretty wintery to me.
First shot is gorgeous, and a nice mosaic too.
I definitely love to see your pictures of your kind of winter! So different of what we have here, as you now.. This 1st photo is looking like a romantic painting!
Beautiful photos. I love to see waterways with the first freezing on them. They offer great photo shots, like you have here. The boathouse is really nice.
Yes, ice huts soon.
We had 20cm of snow, how about you? It is so pretty.

Lots of ice. It looks like winter down here today!
After the winter solstice we are over the hump, so to speak. The days will slowly start to get longer, yahoo. Take care and keep warm. Jen

Yes, it definitely looks like winter, no matter what the calendar says. All nice shots.
What a wonderful view this is!
Ohh these are all gorgeous...gives me the chills though. LOL!
Looks cold but beautiful! Lovely views, images and mosaic! Have a happy week!
Brrrrrr that looks cold! You know, we still have our old ice auger - it looks like it might soon be useful out on the lake.
The calendar may not say winter, but the temperatures here sure do.Your pictures show the lovely side of winter.
Gorgeous photos of the lake and surrounding area. Valerie
It is beautiful there -- cold, but beautiful!!
It does look like winter there! It even seems like winter here all the way down south in Kentucky. brrrrr.......
Gorgeous images especially the first one!
Beautiful shots...and yes, weird looking ice 'logs'...
Beautiful mosaic of photos of a gorgeous place of nature ~ thanks, carol, xxx
Your wintry shots are lovely. I picked out the starling right away - I've had a huge flock descend into our yard for food and water.
Your photos are nice!
Happy Monday to you!
It looks very cold and wintry. It looks like Christmas! Stay warm and enjoy your week!
So beautiful.
A treat to read several of your recent posts. Adding you to my blog list so I check back soon.

You make winter look good - I go with the solstice but it sure feels like winter now!
If that's not winter it certainly looks like it! According to my brother winter begins when there's ice to be scraped off the car.

I don't think we'll be getting any snow for Christmas here in Germany. That's ok by me... but it is nice to see your shots of it!
It's a very special winter with plenty of lights and beauty. I'm so anxious here waiting for the first sign of snow, but still waiting... Thanks for sharing!
hugs

it looks colder there than it does up here in Massachusetts! I don't count it as winter until the Solstice...which will be here soon enough
I'd love to explore this beautiful landscape, where winter has definitely arrived, in all its glory, unaware of man's titles and time!
Gorgeous!

It's certainly more winter than we ever see here! Here some people actually wear jackets with their shorts!
It may not be winter, but it sure looks like it. Lovely shots.
Brrrr...lovely photos :)
Wonderfully winterish.

I love winter and this is such a nice collection. I especially love the blue waters framed by the brown grass in the lower right of the collage.
Beautiful shots. It definitely looks like winter to me.
Winter certainly does seem to have arrived quite early this year. We've been much colder than usual. Hope it means an early spring. Love that first shot!
Lovely! Yes, it's winter in spirit already, isn't it? :-)
You have some lovely wintry photos in your collage. I quite enjoy the change of seasons.
Oh my! I'd call that winter alright. :) And I was just thinking that I wished for a bit colder weather here in England...just a little dusting of snow, that's all. Both Oxfordshire and Vancouver are typical dreary rain. One year we had a white Christmas, about 4 yrs ago now, and all of England ground to a halt for a week. Happily it was over Christmas and so no one really minded so much...except the Royal mail and garbage pick up...that bothered some people. :)
beautiful images… it sure feels like winter has arrived here
A nice grouping of your great photos! I'm very happy that it's so mild here, but I do enjoy photos of "real" winter.
Whoosh...these are brilliant, just picture postacrd perfection!
I wish also most winter was almost spring, but you made it look beautiful.... Michelle
