Goldfinch fluffed up in the cold
Goldfinches are frequent visitors to our yard and also to the feeders behind the visitors centre in Algonquin Provincial Park where these photos were taken.

I love goldfinches and we have lots of them here this winter. They are too fast for me to capture decent photos of though.
I can see all the fluffy feathers, wonderful shots. They sure can go through the niger seed.
It has a thick winter coat.
What a pretty little critter. So how do these things keep from freezing up thataway? Seems they'd be better off heading south.

Our goldfinches don't seem to be this bright. Maybe ours are just waiting for spring which is just around the corner.

Super shots. I love Goldfinches. The American Goldfinch is Washington's state bird. Our feeders are alive with them but only in the summer. Why?????

These are beautiful captures. I really enjoyed their bright cheerful color all summer at my feeders.
I'm running really late making the rounds. The little Gold Finches are adorable. I love the fluffed up little guy but he looks so cold.
