Although much of the region south of where I live is quite built up, a few farms remind passersby of what most of the area looked like not THAT long ago!
That's a heck of a barn compared to what I know from the part of Kansas where my wife grew up. The snow and pure color of the sky are a good compliment to each other.
It is so wonderful especially for someone who hasn't experienced winter yet. If you feel so cold, why not come over here first to the tropics, just like the migrating birds to divert the cold. When i see those thick snow, i somehow is grateful i was not born in a winter country.
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Love that barnboard.
Wow! This reminds me of the farm I grew up on.
Lovely rambling old farmhouse EG, gosh doesn't the snow add a magical touch to everything.
This year temp has shot downwards!
Great pic.
A beautiful old farm that looks like it may be in it's last days too.
The dusting of snow enhances the view. It looks like the place may need a little care though.

That is so pretty!
I wonder how farm animals manage in your sub-zero weather you are having.
Looks familiar. Have you shown us this farm before - maybe at a different season of the year.
It also looks very cold.
But I like. I had lots of fun times on farms like this one.
Fantastic farmhouse and a great photo! I love all that wood in nice grey colours.

Lovely old barn buildings, EG!
That looks like quite a large farm! It's very pretty with the snow.
I bet this was one big, beautiful farm in former days...and maybe now, too. Such a lot of buildings it makes me wonder what all they had.
And still do today thanks to this beauty!
What a beautiful scene- love that old grey washed out barn board.
Beautiful reminder, despite all our recent snow it's lovely to see it when it's so pretty!
truly awesome!
It's a beautiful shot, and the barn buildings look quite appealing in the snow.
What a huge barn complex...bigger than any around here. Love the beautiful blue sky over the snowy ground and roof. Lovely.
What an interesting group of barns!

Love the barn and the old wood.
I like the beautiful gray patina on the logs. Also, it looks like the big barn has a nice roof on it.
Great shot.

I really like the weathered look of these buildings.
lots of news here about how cold it is in Canada.
This is crying out to be painted (not the barn... the scene) !
Like the rural scene. Beautiful and stronger by the snow. Well done.
A VERY picturesque photo!
I hope 2014 proves to be a good year for you and yours!
Such a lovely, rural scene.
I love this scene...very rustic
Beautiful shot. Like a postcard. It is sad to see the land gobbled up by developers. MB
What a wonderful old place, and I just love the setting.
This looks like a wonderful painting I would love to hang on my wall.

I'm glad to have some of those reminders still around.
