Early morning blaze at Mount Albert Fire Hall
When I titled yesterday's Mosiac Monday post, I had no idea there would be a Fire and Ice post #2, but sadly there is. Sunday morning (yesterday), one of East Gwillimbury's fire halls went up in flames. The fire hall is a write off.

My point-and-shoot's zoom lens came in handy since, of course I couldn't get in very close.
Street blocked off for obvious reasons
Although six vehicles (including a brand-new million dollar pumper) have been lost, there have been no reported injuries, which is a blessing.

I saw it on the TV news. All the fire trucks were lost in the fire. At least no one was hurt.
I think you know you are having a bad day if the fire station burns down!

Fabulous post and that first shot is very dramatic. Winter fires are so difficult to fight - I really feel for the firefighters!

A fire at a fire station is something I have never heard of before. Shocking to think that such a thing could happen and thank goodness no one was hurt. It will be interesting to learn how it got started.
i wasn't sure what a fire hall was, but your explanation of the vehicles lost made it clear it was what we call a fire station or fire house. that is truly sad.

HI I am sure they did not expect to be putting out a fire at their own stations however you managed great dramatic shots of the action.
That's gotta be embarrassing to the FD... not to mention a huge financial loss.

Unbelievable! Losing the building and the equipment will be quite a blow to this community.Thankful that no one was hurt.Equipment can be replaced but lives cannot.

Oh no! Small Town and Rural Fire Departments are very important to the community.

Wonderful coverage. I am surprised to seethe blazing fire even in winter.
When your fire house burns down, things are not going very well. It must be hard to fight any fire when the water you are using starts to freeze.
It is amazing that the firehouse burned down. Sad to loose all the trucks and equipment. But, very good that no one was hurt.

My ex-husband had a heart attack and there were 12 first responders there for my poor daughter, who happened to be visiting.
She told her step-mom to call 911, but she has dementia and didn't know how. What a tough week for my kids. I'm just wrestling with hubby's catheter. sigh.
