Deer in the middle of path
The deer must be very hungry to be out during daylight hours. Clearly, this one knows I'm there with my camera.
Pondering the situation
Wondering if it should stay and munch on some yummy red-osier dogwood or follow the rest of its kin.
Turning off the path
It chewed off a few stems and then followed its family.

Great shots. We have lots of deer here in East Texas and we occasionally see them in our meadow, in our driveway, and in our backyard. They're always a treat to spot.

Interesting, our deer are here all the time! I hauled in some wood, and spotted several in the forest.
They are at the end, hopefully, the snow won't melt too quickly, and freeze plants, but we'll see what happens!

The deer looks to be healthy and that is good. Last spring the deer around here were so skinny.

Lots of deer visit us in the mountains. They are quite used to us and unless we startle them we can watch them from the deck as they wander about.
