Downies are amongst my most favourite birds and frequent visitors to our suet feeders.

I love Downies! I have a pair that frequent my feeders. Terrific captures!
Very jealous of the variety of woodpeckers found in other parts of the world. In the UK we have just 3, one of which you never see.

What a sweet-looking little bird. I like that splash of orange, too. We have red-headed woodpeckers here but I have not an orange-tailed woodpecker anywhere! :)

Pretty, pretty! I love these birds, too. I never noticed orange on the tail feathers before. I'll have to look for that.

She's a sweetie. My parents have a pair that visit their suet feeders and they are quite tame - almost like chickadees.
I've had two pairs around here most of the winter. I hadn't noticed the orange on the females tail feathers though. Sweet photos CG.

We have Downeys here too. They love the suet feeders. We have the Hairy Woodpecker and I was going to post the sameness and the differences today but got sidetracked. They are the sweetest bird aren't they. MB
