Newmarket park last weekend
When out for walks, I'm still looking for wild blossoms here north of Toronto. But a sure sign of spring is the red-winged blackbird you can barely see at the base of the cattails.

I had to look carefully but I found him!
You have a sharp eye for birds and photograph opportunities.
Well spotted!
I found him too!
We all have something which says 'spring' to us; for me it's the spring peepers (wee tree frogs) singing away just as soon as it's warm enough.
Soon that pond will be alive with creatures and the browns will turn green. And, the spring peepers will be singing away all night. Love that.
There are a lot of redwings out now!! The air is alive with birdsongs!
I like the browns in this shot! There are lots of red wings at Bro O's pond. They are always scolding me. The male also hops around like his wing is broken to steer me away from the nest.
A nice and peaceful pond. I haven't seen redwings but I assume they are about.
And hopefully it wasn't just a blackbird that lost its way. :-)
Gosh, well spotted EG, you sure don't miss much :)
I spotted that blackbird after I read your words, I was first taken by the ripples on the pond.

Wonderful photo of muted shades.
I did not see the bird, I was to busy looking at the grasses. i do love grass of any kind.
It's a wonderful life, outside and all around!
I like the brown winter grass.
Dearest EG CameraGirl;
I can spot the red-winged blackbird♪ And loved the texture of this photograph with cattail♡♡♡

Sure is a pretty image. I like the red winged Blackbirds. MB
It really has been a struggle to find spring this year. I'm amazed at how much like fall everything still is. Lovely shot.
A beautiful photo! I found also the bird! :)
Hearing them always means spring to me!
I see him ... and I bet you heard him first before you saw him! I'm glad you finally are getting some Spring.
I really like cattails. In fact, I have an arrangement of them in my house!
=)
This would be a pretty picture even without the bird but I'm glad you spotted him. I love red-wings, they have such a neat call.
I hope you heard it sing!
You would think they would be easy to spot, but I have a hard time seeing them. Nice shot.
Lovely shot. The Red-winged Blackbird is sure sign of spring, alright.
Beautiful browns and blues in this photo. Yep, I see the red-winged blackbird. Cute!
Good thing you mentioned it as I was going to comment on the lack of ice and snow in your area. Great shot!
Sneaky little guy.
A wonderful picture, well done!
Best, Annie
