Ordinary Fence, Fancy Gate

Another scene I pass by daily on my way to Southlake Hospital (Newmarket) to visit my husband. Usually there's too much traffic, but last Saturday I  was able to stop to capture this.

I am linking to Good Fences HERE.

Very peaceful scene.

Lovely scene. I like the rail fence and the ornate gate with the carriage lights. It's sort of like the difference between denim and silk, not sure the two go together. But if the owner likes it, that's all that matters.

Ah, what a beautiful fence and gate. Love the mass of trees in the background.

That is a lovely and serene scene.

Interesting that the rather ordinary fence has such an ornate gate.

I wonder where the gates lead to?

Rose said...

That is a nice looking fence! Love the gate!

Very elegant!

May be a compromise between husband and wife...fancy gate... durable fence and it's a great photo.

Looks like they are trying to impress the neighbours with the fancy gate but forgot about the ordinary looking fence.

A nice gate, not too overdone. :)

Good for you for stopping. Sometimes, we never get around to it.

Great scenery but the gate/fence combo is a little odd.

Beautiful scene. Looks like there should be fancy horses munching grass in those fields.

John "By Stargoose And Hanglands" said...

They're just saving up to have the fence done.

Beautiful image. Looks like a peaceful place to live or work.

Thanks for stopping by to view my first Good Fences post.

A mix of rustic and new.

That must lead to a fine place, EG!

Quite an elaborate gate for that rustic fence.

Ruth Kelly said...

Very nice - it is grand!

All you need are a few palm trees and this could be our neighorhood in Ocala. :) Lovely scene.

I'm jealous of all that green.

Stuart said...

And the gate is so defensive with the spears and all, while the wooden fence could by climbed easily by a six year old. Must have been a good gate salesman at the Home Depot.

Debbie said...

soooo many fences, and we are all noticing them now!!

a beautiful image, nothing ordinary about any fence, now that we NEED them!!!

A bit confusing..fancy gate, plain fencing. Wondering.....

The fancy gate is lovely, and the setting is awesome. Beautiful light, and the ordinary fence is so pretty.

Nice gate, now show us the house!! I've been away from blogging for a while (pure laziness I think, but now have got my enthusiasm back. Best wishes to your husband. South Lake is a great hospital, was there for a couple of things last year.

It is an odd combination, isn't it? You had your usual great eye to see it.
