Right now central Ontario's country roads are decorated with flowering lilacs and
Dandelions
and !@#$% with dandelion fluff.

What beautiful lilacs these are. That is one of my very favorite flowers, and love the scent of them. Sadly , they do not do well in Texas, so have to look at others shots. Gorgeous!

Dandelions have the most fascinating structure--dandelions and thistles.

Dandelions? Boy, do we have a bumper crop around here! I shudder to think what next year will be like with all the seeds blowing around. Soon it should be hot enough that these little pests will be smothered out - at least for another year!
P.S. The lilacs are beautiful. I think I can actually smell them!
Photographically, they are very lovely! But i laughed at the @*?%#!~+ at the end because of the dandelion, haha!

The play of light on the flowers and the puffily dandelions is marvelous.

the wild Lilacs are beautiful. I do like the bright yellow color of the Dandelions but the seed pods seem to go EVERYWHERE!! MB

We used to play a game with Dandelion seed heads - tell the time by slowing the seeds away - however many breaths it took was what the time was - Oh wasn't it fun to be a child.
Now I shudder when I see them in the grass - however if they get out of hand and reach the seed head stage wild parrots and cockatoos sometimes come and visit to eat the seeds.

Our soil is dandelion-friendly. Perhaps I should grow them as salad greens.
I love the simple wild lilacs, even if they sucker madly, they are the kind I have in my garden. I wish I were in Ontario right now.

I just love the smell of lilacs in the spring and even though the dandelion is cheerful, it is a nuisance.
