G/ Alphabe-Thursday

Gosling "teenager" with still fluffy head

Not everyone is fond of Canada geese, but most everyone will agree that their goslings are cute.

Some of the goslings in my neighbourhood are starting to look a lot like their parents, although they are still smaller and some of their feathers are downy.

 Hungry

I'm not sure what they were eating but I think it was clover.

Hi EG. Never seen these goslings this size and I do like. Canada geese. also your sunset in your last post is amazing. I see there are 2 seats, 1 for you and 1 for me!

Awesome to think about how fast these young ones will become high flyers like their parents.

and will grow up to be very handsome too

They like to poop in the parks but that's a crappy reason for disliking them.

I don't see them very often so I'm always happy to meet some! They are so cute!

The only time I disliked Canada geese was when they invaded during my wedding! Guess they thought we were the invaders.

I've seen lots of geese and lots of goslings, but never this age. They are a bit odd looking, but wills oon be as beautiful as their parents.

Such lovely photos! Amazing!

Interesting fuzzy things. I suppose the grown ups make a mess or something. Why are they disliked?

Excellent captures on this one!

Yes, they do make a mess, but I don't mind them.

These guys are so cute. We had several near our home along the pond.

I like seeing them in the park pond by our house when they winter here. We never see the young ones though so it was fun to see what they look like.

Great shots of the teenager, still has the downy look.

I do agree that the goslings are cute. Don't think I've seen one in the "teenager" stage before. They're adorable as well.

You know they are cute. The ones at our pond grew so fast it seemed. Soon they fly back to their winter home. MB

Cute series on the goslings!

Interesting to see the wing spread out and see on your capture it's made up of individual feathers! (only a city slicker can be amazed at that, lol)
About the green card, next time I see my daughters I'll tell them that it might be worth it to become a citizen (5 y. process), since they have a family with kids here.

We don't have them this far south, but my mother always complained about them in New Jersey. It's strange because I don't ever remember seeing them as a child growing up there. They must have arrived after I left.

How interesting that wing close up is. Not what I would have imagined it would look like. Great shots!

That is a great close shot of the wing.

Maybe I will just whisper here: (I am one of those who is not fond of Canada Geese, though the little ones do seem cute . . . just wait until they grow into the landscape befowling machines they will inevitably become.)

Rose said...

I love how you caught them in action.

I have a love- hate relationship with Canada Geese ... Mostly love. Especially when I'm not around them ans stepping in what they deposit. ;)) Before we left Oregon for Alaska, we watched the adorable tiny baby balls of fluff, but we are missing the teenagers this year. So thanks for sharing yours. Now that I think of it, I'm kind of surprised we don't see them up here.

Living here in Hamilton, there are a ton of geese. Especially buy the bay or lake. They can be a nuisance, pooping everywhere and chasing people... but they are a beautiful bird as well.

That "teenager's" head looks just like my hair in the morning. Great photos!

They are cute and I do like them even though they trapped me in my barn one day and wouldn't let me out! I had to call animal control to come and move them...

I think they are cute- but I have never had to deal with their messes. Great close up shots!

The goslings are cuter than the geese.

I do like geese, but mostly from far away...
