Hay bales north of Kirkfield
I was looking for scenic fields covered in hay bales when I happened to spy...
Log barn - the second floor on this end is likely an addition
this ramshackle barn in between two fields of hay. Abandoned and slowly being reclaimed by nature.
Loft on this end likely original
As seen from the old driveway
The driveway has not been abandoned but is being used by haying vehicles so I was able to get quite close before hving to make my way through tall grass to get as close as I wanted to.
Too much grass
Actually, the grass was too thick and too tall for me to get the photos I wanted to get. I guess I'll have to go back!
In celebration of the old and wonderful "stuff", I am connecting to Rubbish Tuesday HERE.

This is the first log barn I have ever seen. Once it's gone you will be glad you took theses photos.
A cool looking barn, very rustic.. Love the rolls of hay too. wonderful series!
Precious piece of Canadian history here.
Different shades of green adds color to the landscape and dilapidated buildings. Very nice collection.
With the exception of Lincoln Log Cabin Historical Site, I have never seen a log barn before. Great find!
Lovely photos. I like old barns and log ones are a rare find.
So, do you have a scythe? ;-)
This is one hell of a gorgeous old barn!
This final shot is my favorite. I'd head back when the snow flies.
wow, that's a neat find!
I just love old barns like this one. Thanks for wading through the grass to get these shots for us!
I've never seen a log barn before. Great that you caught it before it is gone. I really like hay bales though.

FANTASTIC images of this old barn!
I believe that is a first for me; never seen a log barn before. That last photo is very nice...no...really great!
It won't take nature long to finish things off.
Gorgus photos! Love the old barn. Such tales it could tell.
That old log barn is a new one for me. Love it! And the field of baled hay is particularly pretty.
There is a lot of history in that old barn, EG!
This is a neat old barn, but it's a shame it has been so neglected. I think you got some great pictures though, in spite of all the grass.
It's getting closer and closer to nature. The ground that is. Nice rubbish pick.
I don't see log barn in this area...Neat! Tom The Backroads Traveller
These are so cool! I don't think I've ever seen a log barn before.

Wonderful faded beauty!
Barns - great objects to photograph, especially when they look like this:) Have a happy week!
Oh, what a great find indeed, EG!! Makes you wish it could talk and reveal its history!! Wonderful captures as always!! Enjoy your new week!!
How unusual! I don't think I have ever seen a barn made from logs! But maybe I need to pay more attention to what they are made of. This is a real shame, because it must be a rare find, and now no one is keeping it up.
Love hay bales and gorgeous barn and sky shots ~ for OWT ~ thanks, ^_^

Fine images. I like such scenes.
Great post. I always wonder about the people who used to work the old farms.
Around here that grass would be full of chiggers!
I forgot to tell you I loved your hay bail shot...
Oh I've never seen these hay bail p;) And reminds me of my favorite drama of 'Little house in the prairie'. I watched rerun with bilingual TV in my early 30's. As I knew the story, it was really nice hearing lessen. Thank you very much for the word 'ramshackle' (*^_^*)

Love old barns! And we have plenty of them here in Arkansas that I have not taken the opportunity to photograph!
I think owls may live in there!
we have a lot around here like that. I don't know how they keep standing.
Good thing you got it now. It won't be around much longer.
What a great find! It's a shame to see those old buildings going back into nature.
