Canadian Thanksgiving

 Cobourg Harbour last Saturday

This weekend Canadians are celebrating Thanksgiving.  To all my Canadian friends: Happy Thanksgiving!

Besides eating turkey and pumpkin pie, many boaters are seriously thinking about taking their boats out of the water for the winter.

Harbour at Bond Head last Saturday

But as you can see some boaters are still not ready...even though the weather is generally quite autumn like here.

Boat lift at Bond Head

On Saturday I watched this boat being moved to it's winter spot.

For boat owners, I'm thinking dry docking is as much a ritual as Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving! I walked through York Reg. Forest Eldred King to the pond and back yesterday, lots of people collecting mushrooms, beautiful colours in the trees. Love your boat pictures. I have never been to Cobourg, must visit one day.

Even while in harbour, the boats lend beauty and imaginary adventure to the scenery. I love seeing the eastern part of Canada as depicted in your blog and hope that you and yours are enjoying a Thanksgiving weekend filled with goodness and gratitude.

That must be a sad day for a boat owner. Oh the long wait until they can get back into the water. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Day.

Your pictures are beautiful, with the reflections of the clouds and the masts in the water. Happy Thanksgiving!! Turkey sandwiches the rest of the week, I never get tired of them!

I keep forgetting to celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving. The US Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I don't see anything wrong with celebrating the Canadian version as well.

Happy Thanksgiving (belatedly). The harbor still looks beautiful. At "our" lake (reservoir) here in Oregon, the boats are almost all gone from the marinas. Because the Corps of Engineers will start to drain it beginning next week.

Happy Thanksgiving eh?! I'm being funny....sorry. Remember that old show Second City TV. I was curious the background story on the Canadian Thanksgiving. Love that Canadians have turkey and pumpkin pie just like we do! Wish you a wonderful October, and loved your beautiful boat photos!

Beautiful harbor pictures. I have only been to Canada one time to that side of Niagra Falls. It was in December and soooo cold for this south Texas gal.

Nice to see you have also the time to take the boats out of the water.
I haven't seen that kind of rack here in "my marina", it looks handy.
The second photo is like a painting, beautiful.
