Victorian Home

On a back street in Port Perry

I have photographed this house before - a while ago. But when I saw it again last week I knew it was time to make a new photo of it. Isn't it grand? I would love to have my "office" in the tower. I wonder if you can see Lake Scugog from up there!

In celebration of the old and wonderful "stuff", I  am connecting to Rubbish Tuesday HERE.

Hi EG CG, This is a wonderful old house. I can relate to your desire to have an office in the tower. I would always want to be sitting in the lookout room at the very top. :-) I am so tempted to link some of my old postcard stuff to Rubbish Tuesday. It's just that I can't bring myself to call those old cards "rubbish" ... Am I too persnickety? John

Oh, I love it! We are in an old house (for 36 years as of May, 2015) and know the TLC old homes need. They are so worth it, too.

'Tis a grand old mansion! I love the HDR effect...did you do it as an HDR shot or use effects like I do? Whatever, this is my kind of house; unfortunately, I'll probably never live in one! :)

That has to be one of the most gorgeous houses ever, EG! Must have been one of the richest families in town!

Oh, that's a beauty! Robert always says that if we buy a Victorian with a turret, he's putting coloured glass in the windows and a little train with a light will drive round and round illuminating them! :D

So beautiful. I'm a big fan of Victorian houses. Is this private residence or have they converted this to a B&B or office spaces?

I just love this old home. I can't imagine the heating bill (I grew up in an old house, not quite as dramatic as this one, but there were many in our area. Heating was expensive! Lots of drafts). You took a gorgeous photo. Great light.

kayerj said...

I love the big old homes in your area, so magnificent. Thanks for sharing, there is nothing here that looks like that.

I haven't been visiting for a few days. Can you believe that I almost missed this crazily wonderful Victorian? There is a similar one in Wethersfield, Connecticut, which I have featured a few times on my blog.
