Canal Lake
Yesterday my husband and I were in Kirkfield, a lovely watery place northeast of East Gwillimbury. The water was high but not overflowing.

We went to see migrating birds but we saw only a few. I guess most are still south of here but on their way. There was still lots of beautiful nature to enjoy though!

I think I saw all your birds on their way there just the other day. I have never seen so many migrating birds before and they were all flying north.
Even though you didn't see many birds, you got some pretty shots there.
When the birds return this must be a brilliant spot for birding.. our birds seem to be elsewhere at the moment too :)

blue skies and water are enough for me.. i think i can hear the burbling of the water in the first photo. that sound is so peaceful when out in nature.
at least there was no snow about?
I used to fish for trout when we lived in the west. That stream brought back some nice memories.
You build it like that (the marsh) and they (the birds) will come. :-)
Soon everything will be all green and even more beautiful!
That creek is so calming and relaxing to look at. Wonderful countryside.

Things seem to have warmed up there, the stream is lovely, and the pond with the red-twigged dogwood on the banks. It looks like a great place for a day trip.

It looks pretty, though there is still a long way to go before the lush green returns.
