Painted turtle
Yesterday (Friday) was a lovely day and I guess this painted turtle thought so too. It was out sunning itself on a log. My first turtle of 2015!
A real poser, it turned around for a second view
This is the only one I saw but if the weather stays warm enough perhaps I'll see more the next time I visit this marsh.

Saw my first one of the season a couple of weekends ago. I think he/she must have been pushing the season a little, though.

I'm always thrilled to see the first one of the year - my sightings are in Wychwood park which is shady so may take a while to warm up enough for them!
This last picture, with his head up, looks like he is almost praying; so happy to be in the sun. I love the little bits of red on him.

Wow. A turtle... ours are frozen. And I have a half dozen frozen goldfish, too. I'm so sad. Several frozen and dead frogs. I'll have to think about a heater.
how fun, I've never seen a turtle roaming about. Only at the zoo.
