Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (Polioptila caerulea)
Tiny and lively, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers are constantly on the move! This is very likely a female in search of spiders and insects.
Another view
These gnatcatchers are expanding their breeding range northward so I have been lucky enough to see one or two in each of the past three years.
I am connecting to Stewart M's Wild Bird Wednesday HERE

there is beautiful light in these shots.
What a lovely, soft grey... and I love the way you've captured them.
Perfect exposure and it's always a pleasure to see unfamiliar birds and creatures.
Lindo demais! bjs, chica
We need some of those gnatcatchers here in Texas!
Cute little birds and hard to capture if they are always on the move and you have done well.
He's a pretty bird. Excellent shot!
What a perky little creature.

Looks like she's keeping a close eye out for potential dinner--or else she's curious about you! Nice shots!
Beautifully photographed. A very sweet little bird this Gnatcatcher.
Cute shots of the Gnatcatcher. I have a hard time catching this one, they move quickly! Enjoy your day!
so beautiful and if he catches gnats send me a few...birds i mean not gnats. we have zillions of them.
I could use a gnat catcher or two. Wonder if I could convince them to stop by CA.

No, this one I never seen. I think he only lives in your country.

Such a sweet little bird EG, lovely colour.
Such a beautiful little bird you have captured! The gray and the green make a nice color combination.
Hard to catch! This looks like a relative of my flycatcher of a few days ago...
Oh, a beautiful little bird indeed, and terrific captures as always!! Hope your week is going well!! Enjoy!!
Great pics! I like how you captured this bird's expression.
Quite distinctive and pretty!
Wow, this little one is a heart-catcher! Stunningly cute.
What a pretty little guy!
Send him to my barn. Got plenty. He can fatten up.
What a sweetie, EG! I haven't seen one of these guys before.
Beautiful photos and a great birdy encounter!
Sweet birds
Great photos of a beautiful little bird.
Pretty cool birds, huh? Here in winter we have all 3 species! They can be tricky at times to tell apart but their calls and coverts underneath the tail really differentiate them. Lovely bird....and vocal!
Sweet shots.
what a cutie. i am not sure i have ever seen this beauty. what cool coloring. ( :
A new bird to me, lovely.
very sweet. they're so tiny.
What a pretty little bird...yet another I don't think I've seen.
(Re: your eagle comment - it was one of my best sightings. I'm sure you would have really enjoyed it, too. Before I shot the single one it was flying with an immature that was squawking like crazy and then they parted company.)
I still don't know how you identify these things. I say, "Hey, look, a nice little bird."
Lovely capture on the bird! Prettier like she
Beautiful shots of a skittery little bird!
