Skipper

 Delaware Skipper

Who says orange and pink clash? These orange skippers actually prefer pink as well as white flowers over other colours!  Here, however, this one is sitting contentedly on a green leaf and even stayed there long enough...

Another view

for me to move a bit and take its photo from the back.

I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

Don't you just love those antennae? :-)

I can never get those darned butterflies to keep still long enough to take photos. Must practice more. Yes, it's been a strange year for birds here too this year - possibly one of the worst ever breeding seasons due to cool, wet and wind.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for those, I did not know that were called skippers.

It's nice to have a cooperative model every now and then.

I'm going to have to rethink my feelings about orange and pink. It get challenged every Fall when the Crepe Myrtles leaves turn orange while they still have their pink blooms.

There were so many of these guys around when I was a kid - it really takes me back when I see them.

There's one in every crowd. I hoped you yelled something like this at it:

"Pink, dummy, or white, never orange! Sheesh!"

We have quite a variety of skippers in Florida, and I often need help to sort them out. Then I forget their names and must start all over, like introducing myself to an old friend.

Your skipper photos are so excellent, such great details. I just whip out my cell phone in the yard when I see one. I'll have to try taking my camera out and stalking one.

A real beauty ...there are no clashing colors in nature ... I'd love to see this one on its favorite color flower , tho she's lovely on green too!
