Truckload of Annuals

Annuals planted in cargo bed of old pickup truck

Every year for the past three (and probably many more), this rusty, old pickup truck's cargo bed has been a planter filled with annuals.

Longer view

The road is higher up than the driveway so the truck is easily seen from the road when we drive southerly to Whitby. I think the flags are celebrating the Pan American Games and the Parapan American Games held this year in Toronto as the baseball games were played just down the highway a bit.

Such a functional old buddy. That's cool! His service would be mostly appreciated when people see how beautifully the field is done.

At glance I though the truck was transporting flower plants! Nice use with the cargo bed of the abandoned truck. Stunning in red

I'd like to have a few of those plants! Been out of the loop for days without cell or wifi in our lovely Lake Michigan cottage in Door County, Wi. Wish I could live here again!
Right now briefly visiting a coffee shop to use cell and pick up messages. Will visit again soon! Still posting automatically, tho!

I have seen a lot of goods transported over the years that have been less than healthy so to see these flower beds being trucked about is definitely a refreshing change!

Great photo. The truck and the flowers are a great combination.

That puts the old truck to good use doesn't it? Far better to make a lovely wayside attraction like that than have it rusting away with no one caring about it.

Flowers in a dump truck--that's an image you don't see every day! Whoever thought to do this was brilliant. Love!!!

Upcycling at its best.

This is one of the most interesting planters I've yet seen...and it looks like there's minimal weeding once the flowers are going. Bravo!

What a brilliant idea. I wonder if they plant other kinds too after the blooms die out.

It's so pretty. The gardener must have spent a lot of time.

Good to see they found some use for the old truck! I'd imagine the flower gardens are probably some of the prettiests loads the truck has ever carried.
