Mild December Weather

 Bridge to Aubrey's island

This morning My husband and I visited friends who have a pond on their property
.
Seen from the island to northern shore of pond

LOOK! No ice yet!

 Weeds, pond in background

This is a little dark because the sun kept coming out and going in.

Peeling birch

One of the joys of this time of year is seeing the natural peeling of birch bark.

It was 87 degrees on my hike yesterday. Argh. Where's 'winter'?

Enjoyed your shots.

A lovely spot. The peeling bark is my favourite shot among these.

The second one is my favourite, it's gorgeous. So what happened to the white fluffy stuff?

The weather is definitely odd this year....maybe some winter will show its face all too soon tho.

Lovely property. I wish I had a pond!!

Nature is one of life's awesome wonders. You captured it beautifully on your friend's property. It is springlike here too. Enjoying it while it lasts :)

Looks like you're still having beautiful autumn weather. We just got our first major snow storm! Happy Christmas!

Very nice images, pretty golden tones!! We are having record breaking warmth here at the jersey shore!!

You certainly are enjoying beautiful weather there Tina. We are in storm mode tonight and tomorrow with ice pellets and freezing rain. I'm praying the power doesn't go out as it would be very dark, cold and lonely. Hubby is in PEI and may have to stay overnight! :(

Hasn't it been wonderful - although a bit of sun would be nice!

A nice collection of early winter images. I suspect that "real winter" will arrive with a vengeance before long.

I feel like I'm in some kind of a time warp with our everlasting October. Sure makes the driving easier, though. I like the frothy weeds and the birch bark blowin' in the wind.

That's incredible that in the middle of December there is no ice.

Well...we had a skim of ice on our tiny seasonal pond this morning (it melted). I suppose dragonflies could have ice skated on it.
What a pretty setting this is! Very nice shots!

You have started out with a mild winter.

Beautiful shots.

If you do get snow, please keep it in Canada. We don't want any Canadian snow in Oklahoma please;)

No snow yet? I like all the grasses and seed heads. It doesn't look like you'll have a white Christmas!

Great photo of the peeling bark. I suppose there is still time for a white Christmas.

It's the same here in Sweden...
Both autumn and winter has been very mild so far. Today we had some frost and even that made me happy! ;-)

nice shots, but..... seem like the weather we have too. One day a degre below zero, nest day 10 degree above. Tomorrow we are expecting temperature records for warmest december in decades.
