Eager skater - Elgin Pond (Uxbridge, Ontario, CANADA)
E is for exercise, eager and Elgin Pond.
I cannot believe these photos have been in a folder for six years! They were taken on Family Day (February 15th) 2010. I fear the ice may not be thick enough for Family Day this year...but hey! It might be.
Fighting for the puck
Hi, everybody! Sorry we're late!
Family Day is for everyone!
Eh is a word, eh?
Eh is a word, eh?
Ask most Canadians and they will confirm that "eh" (pronounced "ay") is a word. Have you heard the classic joke about how to spell Canada? C, eh? N, eh? D, eh?

That is a lot of fun on the ice. A winter with ice and snow has become a nostalgic memory here....
It always pays to review your old photos once and a while... eh.
How I wish to play in snow too!!!
Nice Canadian blog post, eh?!
Lovely pictures!
Nice E photos for this week. On my site I have a list of Can'eh'dian websites.
Eh? love that. i read it in books all the time and usually from old farm folks in the north or someone from UK...
Eager Eddie Excercise at Elgin pond.. sorry, my madness came out
an activity you don't see in Tampa...eh
I feel so deprived EG, snow looks sooo much fun eh!
Looks like a fun day. I'm delighted to learn how to spell Canada in your new funny fashion.
Eh is at least a word I recognize! ;-)
Lindo e belas fotografias.
Um abraço e boa semana.
So much fun playing shinny on an outdoor rink. Perfect for Family Day.
Hello, family day looks like fun! Ice skating and enjoying the snow and cold weather. I am familiar with "eh".
Happy Tuesday, enjoy your week ahead!
I grew up with ice skating as a formative winter activity. I've heard that the canals in Holland haven't frozen since the '60s!
Nice photos and a funny way to spell Canada!
Six years on, some of those kids are quite different, while the teens are grown up!
How fun is all that!?
Ah, fun giggles to start my day!! And I love your captures for the day -- as always!! Hope your week is off to a great start!! Enjoy!!!
Funny ;) Never hear EH, but I speak different language, that's why...
Your fotos are very nice and happy.
They are having so much fun in the snow.

not much pond hockey here, eh!
The last joke is a winner. It's two bad more families wouldn't try skating and the outdoor rinks.
What great fun, - I used to love to skate!
Nice one, EG! The ice may be thick enough after this coming weekend!
Guess you proved it...EH is a word. These photos are so sharp and nice. Looking at that family makes me think of all the things I have not done in my life because of growing up in Florida. To answer your question...yes, I did TRY to sew on it but I would never be able to pull it off now. Only a child could do it...with little hands and just a wee bit of material..
Fun to have this snow and ice!
wonderful list of e-'s... with beautiful photo's... lovely post
have a nice abc-day / - week

Great post ~ and wonderful family activity photos! I remember those days ~ I loved skating ~ thanks for the reminder!
Wishing you a Happy Week ~ ^_^
All around family fun, great for everyone!
What a great glimpse of happiness!...:)JP
Great joke on Canada spelling and I sure like the action photos of Everyone. How fun.
These photos take me back to my childhood. Many wonderful times spent on the ice. That was before we moved to Los Angeles and I realized that people didn't need to freeze every winter! :)
Well, no snow out Vancouver way...so the family went swimming at the local indoor pool...just as much fun but in a different way.

Must be so much fun especially when the temps not too cold.
My ABC WEDNESDAY
Eh!? Looks like a great family day. Love the outdoor shots with all the eager ones exercising!
Looks like fun!
That looks like great fun - you can see why ice hockey is so popular in Canada :)
Lots of fun!
Hadn't heard that one. I'll have to ask one of my Canadian friends "the question". ;-)
That looks like a fun time...had not heard the joke. Thanks for the chuckle.
Your photographs have a 1960's magazine vibe to them, and that is a good thing. I have never been out on ice covering water. Don't expect I ever will.
Your remarks about "eh" tickle me. Way back when me and another pipeline engineer went to Minnesota to look at building a pipeline. We went to all the various county offices to ask about permits and regulations and such.
I was the interpreter. My coworker was from Louisiana and the county people could not understand a word he said and he couldn't understand them either. I thought it was hilarious. I remembered they all said "eh" also.
Cute hockey players. I'll bet they're much bigger now!
I hadn't heard the Canada spelling joke. Funny.
(BTW: Re your comment on my post today about selling the house on the edge of the flood. One of my blog followers is building it as his retirement home and jokes he'll get a canoe.)
:) Fun post. Enjoyed reading it.
Happy ABCW!
I am dreaming of playing in the snow too because we do not have snow over here.
Classic winter photos…and so much fun!
=)
Enjoyable pictures!
There are such great people pictures

Playing on frozen lake/pond seems to be excited and being cautious is very important! Family Day sounds fun, and I wish every part of world celebrates such days to bring dear ones closer.
Lovely family fun photos!
Fun spelling of Canada. Reminds me of the way we spell Mississippi, but I'll save that until we get to the letter M.
Have a great day!

careful on the thin ice!

I can't imagine having such easy access to ice. I'm glad we don't, but it would be pretty cool.
I'd never heard the joke, lol and I love the we're late pic!
Fun snowy photos. Old photos provide a a great weather record of past years.
i really enjoy scenes like this!! around here, it doesn't seem like many kids play outdoors anymore....or enjoy any winter activities. i use to love a snow day and sledding. i never missed it with my sons!!!!
Fun post! Lovely pictures
