Heart and Soul/ SOOC

Old-fashioned garden favourite

Each bleeding heart (Dicentra spectabilis) blossom resembles a puffy, dangling locket, pink with dainty white tears. At my latitude they bloom for weeks, brightening up shady spots.

I too like bleeding hearts...though like everything they struggle here in Calgary because of the sudden temperature swings.

I just got some Bleeding Hearts at our Farmer's Market today. They are so unusual and dainty and your phot0 captures both of those characteristics.

Beautiful catch in front of the fence! I ahve only seen it once in person and it was quite neglected so yours was a real treat.

I've been seeing these around the blogosphere lately, and it makes me wonder why I've never had any myself?

Happy Mother's Day!
