Veterans/ Photo Hunter

Every year on November 11th, wreaths are placed in front of the gates to the Mount Albert Community Centre

This week's Photo Hunter challenge: veterans

In Canada, November 11 is called Remembrance Day, commemorating veterans as well as civilians who respond to their country's needs in times of war.

How difficult it must be to lose a loved one but never to be able to put them to rest...

A poignant photo pointing to some very troubled times and to the ultimate sacrifice so many made for the greater good.

Lovely tribute catch. We also celebrate our Veterans on the 11th. Celebrate is a strange word but we celebrate their lives and sacrifice for us. MB

Thank you for sharing this...I couldn't imagine the pain their families must have felt never knowing what happened to them.

Yes, we do that on the 11th. Your shot reminds us of all those men who died, those who survived for in my case- the freedom of Western Europe.
