What a nice classical riding outfit. I've always been charmed by the red jackets. This looks to be a good riding trip in the snow. The horses sure need their exercise in snow, rain and sunshine. (I'll go for a hike tomorrow, and will be making angels in the powder snow). Happy you like Ken Follet's book.
The rider in red can appreciate the snowy cover without worry - the surefooted equine knows the way and will transport you in safety...too bad the horse wasn't covered in a smart ruby wool blanket also...
Boy, oh boy does that bring back memories! When I was a teenager I had a friend that owned 2 horses, and we used to ride all the time together. In the winter we used to ride bareback just to keep warm. B.
The problem is when you get to a person's post late you can't think of anything that the first 30 commenters didn't already say. And I'm late to the party again!
What struck me about your photo was the serenity of the scene. The bright red jacket draws our eye into the photo, that's for sure.
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

that looks like so much fun! love the shot.
And good exercise for the horse! You set this one up really well with that red jacket against the whiteness of the world.
On the portal, I thought for a minute it was a shot of a Canadian Royal Mounted Policeman...
Beautiful scenery, but it looks sooo cold!
Nice to see the Sun there!Enjoy your day dear EG!
And have a wonderful week

The bright white snow, the dark black horse, and a vivid red jacket - what a great color combo for this shot!

I think it would be lovely to ride through the snow like this. Great catch!
Wow how that red stands out.
How fun that would be to ride through the snow on the back of a horse. The snow would probably freak our horse out.

Love your red jacket and wish I could ride a horse someday too :-)

Perfect.... I have not rode a horse for many years, but always enjoyed winter riding...
Every time I see your shots, I feel like buying a new camera! I like the almost monochrome quality of this photo, with the red standing out.
Your photos always make me a little bit jealous, as I sit here in front of my computer :) I'm going to need to make some time for horseback riding!
Love it!!! Of course anything with horses grabs my attention.
Perfect shot too. MB

I believe it would be lots of fun to walk among the snow and trees on horseback
what a great capture! Nicely done and that red jacket is the 'icing on the cake.'
Happy RT!
Riding in the snow would be so much fun. Great picture.

I presume the horse doesn't get cold feet.
All these snow, I don't think I can live in such cold weather again.
