Wild orange daylily, a.k.a. ditch lily (Hemerocallis fulva)
Beautiful...but not for most of my gardens. This wild daylily is invasive. Truth be told, however, I do have a nice patch of these lilies on town property close to the road.
Beside the road between East Gwillimbury and Uxbridge, Ontario
This is how I love them best, mixed with other wildflowers beside country roads.

There is nothing more beautiful to me that naturalized flowers in a field. The second shot is my idea of heaven.

It reminds me of a tiger lily, but without the spots. I agree, they are very pretty in a field mixed with a variety of other colors of flowers.

That is a really pretty wildflower meadow - we don't have wild daylilies here.

We have "ditch" lilies around here, too. Like you, they are much nicer mixed with other wildflowers.

You know what, I just found out the song Land of the Silver birch is a Canadian song, and according to some, is the unofficial Canadian Anthem. I was taught this song and we thought it was American.
I was comment with another blogger when she asked me if my tree in my plants site was a birch tree. Just this afternonn, the music teacher was teaching some kids this song. The musc room is next to mine, and I sang it to myself. i went to the U tube, and has been sing the song of my youth.
