Blossoms on potato plant (Solanum tuberosum)
Did you know there are more than 5,000 varieties of potatoes? (Neither did I till I looked it up.) The blossoms can be white, pink or purplish but I see mostly white around here.

Sometimes I "grow" potatoes in my garden by mistake (i.e., by compost). I've never let them go to flower - I guess I might be rewarded with these pretty white flowers? Love the view of the field.
Nice crop of potatoes. Glad I don't have to dig them. ;) Lovely pics.
lovely photos, I always like the flowers of potatoes and other closely related plants..
I've seen lots of potato plants in my time, but I guess I never thought about their blossoms. Very nice.
Re your comment on Ocala DP: You're lucky!
When I was growing up we would grow our potatoes in the garden. I don't think I've seen potato blossoms since then. Thanks for the memories.
I've never seen potato flowers before....thanks for sharing!

Interesting blooms. I also have potatoes growing in my compost pile so I'll have to watch for the blooms.
There are no better potatoes than the ones that you have just pulled from the earth that day. And the fields in bloom are lovely.
A lovely flower from the homely looking potato..who knew? I'm just starting a vegetable patch and potatoes are next.
Oh you!!! I just took some potato field pictures and here we have white, pink and pruply-blue flowers.
I always say I am going to plant potatoes all around the house because they get such pretty flowers and they stay the same height and then I would have a harvest too. Never did it though. LOL

I wonder if they are edible like zucchini flowers?
Beautiful blooms.
They are pretty flowers, aren't they? I like your second photo - it looks so cool and refreshing.
strange, why do we so often overlook flowers like these one? They are actually beautiful. :)
Pretty field. I know, and eat, about half a dozen potatoe varieties but sure didn't know there were over 5,000 to choose from. I have my work cut out for me, LOL!
