Sweet violet (Viola odorata) that has invaded my garden
I don't mind violets growing in my lawn...but I try to keep them out of my gardens where they might crowd out other plants.

Nice macro of the violet. I love them, but I do have problems with them invading the garden.

That colour tugs at your heart strings. So typical and uplifting. Yours don't seem to have an orange blob in the center, like ours over here.

I have many yellow violets in my flower beds, but the purple ones seem to prefer the wilder areas in the woods--so far, anyway! I like violets, and would prefer them to some of the other weeds that take over anyplace I neglect for very long!

I didn't realize they could be invasive. We have a tiny yellow one around here but it doesn't seem to invade the garden.

Macro Monday
Awesome color on these wild beauties. I have a section of lawn that is nothing but violets. When the grass turns purple, I know it's spring.
So delicate and pretty. I have a big "patch" of them--never planted a one, but somehow they got started and have spread all over. Mickie :)
This is a wonderful shot of the violet...probably the best I have ever seen.
