RAILWAY: Canadian National coming from the north
As you can see, March is not the most photogenic of months in central Ontario. Luckily this REDDISH orange Canadian National RAILWAY (commonly called CN) engine entered the scene and saved the photo. CN passes through East Gwillimbury on the east side of town. During the night, if I'm awake, I sometimes hear trains every 20 or 30 minutes. Most of the time I don't hear them though.

This is the same intersection looking the other way. I took the photo last fall, but you can see a misty sunset adds a light REDDISH (aka pink) tint here.
Curve in the track
I cannot remember, but I think this track belongs to the Canadian Pacific RAILWAY (aka CPR) running parallel with the north shore of Lake Ontario. I'm always looking for a chance to take photos of CPR engines, which are RED. Unfortunately I had no luck the day I took this photo.

I'm always interested in trains and tracks. Pictures like this bring back many memories of spending time at the tracks with my husband. He loved all things 'train'.

Patty and I lived beside a railroad - separated from it by a side ditch and a small alley. It would pass, going slowly, and make the house and dishes rattle. I like trains. Grew up with them passing the house twice each day.
You've managed to take some beautiful of the track and the train though! I kinda like the look and feel of the entire area!

The train adds wonderful color to an otherwise bland landscape. It's strange, but that's now how I pictured Canada in the winter. Bet it's pretty when everything greens up though.

Great weather we're having; don't think I've ever done spring cleanup sweating from the heat.
There's something about a red engine, whether train or fire; must come from all the books we read as kids.
I lived a short distance from RR tracks growing up and you're right, after awhile you don't even hear the trains or whistles.

I adore trains! Sadly we do not have train service on the island anymore. We have not heard any more news whether or not if it will ever run again. It all depends on the government and via Rail, re finances.
The house I lived in for 32 years had railway tracks at the end of the yard. At first it was Via passenger trains and freight trains, but the only trains that run on the track now are the GO commuter trains to and from the city. And they certainly blow their horns very loudly very early in the morning! I hope the people who live in the house now are heavy sleepers!!!!

I see that reddish-pink tint you're talking about. Photography has been an eye-opening experience for me that way. I find myself commenting on things that formerly went unnoticed. I like the boldness in the image of the red train. Good eye, CameraGirl!

One thing I have always wanted to do was take a train trip. There is just something about the sights and sounds of a train that makes me think of an adventure!
Nice. Trains and tracks can make wonderful subjects...just be super super super careful if you get lost in your photography like I've been known to do. ;)
I love the sound of a train, at night. When we used to visit my in-laws at the farm, we could hear the old CPR in the distance - it was a lovely night-time sound.
