Ice and exposed water
Friday, my husband and I were out and about. The sun was out! There's ice and snow on the creek except where the water runs fast. After a few relatively mild days, the temperatures have dropped.
A dusting of white
Snow squalls have left about an inch or two of snow, nothing worth shoveling...yet.
A closeup of snow on corn stubble
Cattle enjoying the outside and sunshine
Black barn, red roof...and snow

Winter has finally arrived!
The weather is so up and down. The winters certainly are not the old reliable ones we used to have.

Lovely.
Very pretty photos! Love the contrast of snow withe the red roofed barn. Have a great weekend and Happy New Year!
Pretty snowy scenes! I am glad it was not too much snow, the cattle would have a hard time.. Great photos! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Your pictures look like paintings! Just beautiful. The snow dusting on the corn stubble field is beautiful.
But I worry about you having to take those mittens off to take pictures!
(When we were in Alaska looking at glaciers, I held my gloves in my teeth while I snapped pix, put them back on to warm up before I took another batch.)
Beautiful winter landscapes. I love the cattle. We also had a few cold days with snow before it got warmer and started to rain again.
Snow isn't very easy to photograph, yet you have captured the scenes beautifully. Happy New Year. Greetings Jo
Very pretty views. We still have no snow in the southern half of NB but the rest of NB has a lot. A bit of snow and then ice pellets and freezing rain for us tomorrow will not be pleasant as it would be nicer to have a good 10 cm. of snow on the ground to insulate it.
Beautiful views, and my kind of weather!
it is beautiful on the corn rows and love that cow pic... glad it is a dusting and not a foot of it
It looks pretty chilly to me.
Interesting winter shots.
Just beautiful!
Mittens certainly do the trick over gloves when the frigid temps hit. Nice scenes here.
A great variety of true winter scenes.
Very pretty scenes. I am afraid I would need more than just mittens.
it's pretty (from here!) :)
I just love your snowy winter scenes.
Oh, yes, I do love your winter scenes and the snow! Great shots as always!! It's chill and wet and gray here in Portland, and I have to remind myself not to whine, after all it is winter in the northwest!!! Hope you have a great weekend! Stay warm and enjoy!!
So pretty! Glad you don't have to shovel yet. Cajun Country has been rainy and dismal for far too long. Wishing you all the best for a wonderful 2015!
That is a neat barn! Great selection of photos!
I love that barn! It is snowing here now but it is supposed to turn to rain later. Yuck!
We've had almost no snow here in D.C.
Those are wonderful winter shots!

Theses pictures seems to portray the mild winter day.
I love that first image!!!
I WAS gong t tell you I was jealous, but t s SNOWING here...just a dusting forecasted!!!...:)JP
Nice shots for the three memes. Makes me miss having a little snow on the ground.
Splendid shots!
Yes, Friday was brightish here but quite cold and windy.
Heaven, I'm in heaven and my heart beats so... :-)
cold but lovely shots :)
The snow looks beautiful. But, I would rather see it on your blog that have to walk in it.
Nice country views EG. We got our firs snowfall yesterday since November!
Beautiful winter shots. It does look like mitten weather.
I love your pictures of winter settling in. I have a song that I sang to my children and now I sing to my grandchildren called Mitten Weather.
Thumbs in the thumbplace
fingers all together
this is the song
we sing in mitten weather
We sing the song as we put the mittens on. You've reminded me of it with your post. I hope your husband is doing well.
Pretty winter scenes, especially that first shot.
Very very cheerful views of winter... Stay warm Tina!!
I dusting of snow is better than a dumping of snow, I reckon. Beautiful winter scenes.
That is one sharp dressed barn!
